Beauty tool shopping…

How many brushes and sponges does one face need? Quite a lot apparently :)

That being said, I was quite good in Chicago and came home with only three this time.

 

1. Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Top Multi-Purpose brush

This bush received 4.7 out of 5 on Make Up Alley and has been raved out by many a beauty guru. Of course, I had to have it. I picked it up for $14 in Target. Although you can use it for powder and blush I plan to use it for foundation application. I am envisaging a flawless application… fingers crossed this one delivers.

2. Sonia Kashuk Bent Eye Liner Brush

This one was also raved about on Make Up Alley (4.6/5). This is my first experience with a bent brush. I have quite a few eye liner brushes in my possession, Bobbi Brown being my favourite. All of my favourite gel liners have dried out so I look forward to testing this brush properly when I pick up another one. Bobbi Brown gel or MAC Fluidline?

 

3. Make Up For Ever Elipse Sponge

I have purchased this little guy quite a number of times. It’s my favourite sponge. I like the shape for getting in to all the little nooks and crannies of the face. I also love the texture. I use it damp and use it to stipple on my foundation. It gives a gorgeous no make-up sort of a look. Of course you could use it dry for more coverage. I remember these sponges being more porous than this one, I wonder if they have changed it. This one reminds me of the Laura Mercier sponge whereas my old one was more akin to a beauty blender. I bought mine for $11 from Sephora but there is a Make Up For Ever on Clarendon Street, Dublin, which I often use.

On another note, this is the only type of communication I have had today – no, I haven’t become a hermit. I have just had braces applied to my lower teeth. I also had the top tightened which has left me with a face that hurts when I talk. Boo. Think I’ll just go to  bed and try to sleep through it…. although One Born Every Minute is on…

    between mac fluidline and bobby brown not sure- never tried bobby brown but had fluidline for over a year ( never dried out – very surprised :0 ) but recently got the inglot gel liner and oh my goodness it is actually amazing! goes on very smooth and lasts longer then needed! bit hard to get off but totally worth it! :)
