I had a little play with my new Manly palette. I have to admit, I did enjoy myself. I was a little overwhelmed by all of the colours but I eventually settled on Greens.

I used Jadet and Dark blue from the palette on the lide with a little Chartruese along the lashline. I like it, pretty for Spring. (more…)

Today’s make-up is very neutral. I actually toyed with the idea of not wearing any at all but I had time to kill.
I used:
Face
- Chanel Pro-Lumiere Foundation (shade 30)
- MUFE Loose Powder
- MAC Blunt (contour)
- Benefit Coralista
- Prestige Sun Baked highlight
Eyes
- MAC Phloof (inner third of eye and brow bone)
- MAC Aintiqued (crease)
- MAC Beautyburst (LE – Outer corner)
- 17 Va Va Voom
Lips
- MAC Hue Lipstick
- Nars Turkish Delight Gloss
Safe and boring but that’s how I felt today. Couldn’t face colour, maybe tomorrow!

I picked up the Maybelline eyeshadow quad in Enchanted Forrest for a couple of dollars in the US a few months ago.
I have tried a few of the Maybelline quads before and I wasn’t impressed with the quality. But this particular quad came highly recommended. So I decided to give it a go today.
The colours work really well on blue and green eyes. These quads come with instructions on where to apply them. I didn’t follow this. I used the highlight shade on the lid, the lid colour in the crease and then the outer corner colour in well, the outer corner. I used the crease shade under the eye.
the pigmentation isn’t outstanding but it is nice. It’s perfect for day wear. I don’t think they are pigmented enough for a big night out though. They’re soft and easy to apply. Best of all, they are cheap!
Have you tried these yet?

This weekend I decided to set myself a drugstore make-up challenge. I only allowed myself wear products that I bought in Boots, Superdrug and CVS. I wanted to keep it quite natural. Here is the look I settled on:

and the look…
- No 17 Get Even Foundation in Natural
- Beauty UK Palette No 2
- Eco Tools Brushes
- Rimmel Recovery Concealer
- Maybelline Mousse Blush: Peach
- Prestige Sun Minerals in St Tropez
- Prestige Sun Minerals Highlight
- Bourjois Blanc Diaphine
- Natural Collection Lip Liner in Almond
- Annabel Eye Liner
- Revlon Sable Eye shadow
- Wet n Wild Mega Shine
- Essence Gloss
I really enjoy using the Beauty UK Palette. I applied the orange shade to the lid and the aqua under my eye. I used Revlon Sable in the crease to blend out the orange and Bourjois No 40 on the inner corner of my eye. I think the No 17 foundation requires a post of it’s own.
My make-up lasted as long as it usually does with more expensive products. I’m converted. For today anyway!
