Flippin’ Amazing! Cicaplast Baume B5 by La Roche Posay

La Roche Posay is one of those brands that is constantly raved about by beauty bloggers. I have tried a few of their products and their quality cannot be denied – the spf 50 for face in particular is fantastic. But I have recently come across their piece de resistance!

Cicaplast Baume B5… what a beautiful name :)

This has been a huge success in France, the home of the brand, where 6 months worth of product sold within 60 days. The most amazing thing about this is that they didn’t even have to advertise. That’s surely the mark of a good product. I was intrigued.

I picked up a tube for €12.50 in my local pharmacy – I couldn’t believe how cheap it was. After hearing such acclaim I was expecting a fairly hefty price tag. Now I actually bought it for baby Eve who had dry skin on her face, nappy rash and a touch of eczema on the back of her elbows (I tried all the usuals but to no avail). It cleared both up in 24 hours. My intrigue turned to delight. I proceeded to smear some all over the bumps at the backs of my arms, my knees and elbows and a dry patch on my forehead. All gone in a day or two. Result!

The product claims to sooth and repairs all everyday skin irritations, cuts and minor wounds. According to dermatologists the results of tests back them up. I have since read so many testimonials from Mammy’s online raving about this stuff. Ok, so its great for baba’s but it’s also great for us :)
I plan to use it on stretch-marks, scars (hopefully no c-section scars this time round), dry skin and irritation.
Cicaplast Baume B5, I’m so happy you’re in my life! Have you tried anything from La Roche Posay?

Best Product Ever! Olay 3 Point Serum Review

Ok, stating that something is the best product ever is a tall order. I thought I better qualify.

First of all, here is the beaut in question…

Olay 3 Point Serum is the best product for me for the following reasons:

1. It cleared all of my spots. Yes, all. This is a happy side affect of this product. I know this is an anti-ageing product but this is not why I use it at all.

2. It makes my pores look normal, rather than irregular and swollen. It also reduces blackheads

3. It calms my red areas.

4. It doesn’t dry my skin out

5. It firms my skin and leaves it feeling taught.

4. It’s amazing when used in conjunction with Regenerist Daily Regenerating Cream Wash. I highly recommend using these together.

5. It’s cheap – at least when you buy it on ebay, like I do. (The seller I used – Link!) I also bought a little set to try it out which contained a full cleanser (which is amazing – review to follow) and a few other samples (from this seller here Link!)It was a good way to try out 5 Olay products, two of which are firm favourites.

I LOVE IT!!

As I mentioned on Facebook, I ran out of my sample bottle last week and ordered some more on ebay. In the meantime my skin started to misbehave. The new serum arrived yesterday and my skin already looks less spotty today.

My skin issues are…

  • Spots
  • Clogged pores
  • Enlarged pores – irregular shape
  • Early signs of ageing (Doubt it matters if you have this issue or not)
  • Combination skin

If you have similar issues I highly recommend you give this a whirl! Like all skin care it’s not for everyone but I am delighted with the results.

Thoughts?

Current Hair Care Favourites

It’s no secret that I’m as fickle about hair care as I am about skin care. But I have found a little system that really works for me lately. It’s a little bit of a pick n’ mix brand wise.

Products that have made it into my favourites list

  • John Frieda Go Blonder
  • John Frieda Frizz Ease 3 Days Straight
  • Redken Clear Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Wella Brilliance Mask for Fine hair

I’m absolutely in love with Redken Clear Moisture. I have worked my way through all of their shampoos over the years and have finally found one that’s not too heavy for my fine hair. I love the fresh scent of the products too. My hair is like silk after using these but I still get to keep what little volume I have.

I picked Clear Moisture up from Hair Matters in Clontarf (they have a buy one shampoo get a conditioner free offer).

The Wella Brilliance mask is for fine hair too. I have never found a hair mask that’s light enough for my hair. It conditions the hair very well without leaving a residue or making hair greasy. Love.

Go Blonder – I recorded a video review on this one. It’s excellent for root blending. I’m going a little longer between highlights now.

3 Day Straight - Great stuff and easy to use. Spray it on and dry your hair. I get three days free from the dreaded ‘humidity hair’. Video review will be up on this one later this week.

What are you current hair care favourites?

Video: April Favourites ’11

I finally uploaded my April Favourites video. I know it’s already well into May but better late than never?

I didn’t record a favourites video in March so here are the products I have been using and loving for the past two months.

httpvh://youtu.be/qRwc-nfGlVE

On another note, I’ll be uploading another video in the next 2-3 days. I’ll also be returning to regular video posting now that I have my recording situation sorted.
