Travel Essentials – Burt’s Bees

IMG_2981 (1)
I am always like a child when new beauty products arrive at my door. The courier company probably think that I am the happiest woman in the world! Well last week the cutest little box arrived from Burt’s Bees.

Look at the little suitcase! I am already thinking about what I can store in there when the products are used up (I’m thinking nail care products!).

I’ve always been a fan of Burt’s Bees lip balm and while I don’t mind the honey scent I also don’t love it. I have just realised that there are a mountain of other flavours that I haven’t tried. I actually didn’t even know that they existed. Well now. Coconut & Pear? Need.

This box came with a sample of their lip balm in Refreshing, a pink grapefruit version with Vitamin C. It’s quite uplifting. I already prefer it to the original. At €3.95 each I think I may just be able to stretch to buy the Hydrating version too. I leave a lipbalm everywhere from my car to my weekend bag.

The Summer Travel Kits, Tips and Toes €17.95 (which I received) and the Essential Burt’s Bees Kit are great. They are also very affordable so it’s something I would buy for myself for travelling or for my weekend bag. They would also make a cute little gift.

I may have lipbalms everywhere but I do the same with hand creams. I hate the feeling of dry hands, everything I touch feels like chalk. I also don’t travel without a foot cream, oh yes she’s high maintenance! Ha ha. Honestly a hand cream and a lip balm and I’ll get by. Small tubes and pots are great for throwing in your bag and leaving in your car.

The Tips and Toes Kit contains

  • Almond & Milk Hand Cream
  • Hand Salve
  • Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey & Grapeseed Hand Cream
  • Coconut Foot Cream
  • lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
  • Replenishing Pomegranate Lip Balm

I usually buy Burt’s Bees in my local Health Shop in The Pavillions Swords but I hear they are also sold in pharmacies. I actually bought one of their Christmas gifts for my dad’s partner on so their products are widely available and trusty.

Right, I’m getting my butt out to the sun! See you ladies later!

Excitement! Bobbi Brown Beach Favourites

Bobbi Brown Summer Beach 2016
I’m going to skirt over my absence and hope you forgive me! I had to have a little beauty rave. I’m beach crazy. Beach hair, beach skin, beach bags, sandals, swinmwear… you get the gist. If there is a scent of the sea incorporated into a fragrance, hair or skin product it is inclined to end up in my shopping basket. It just cheers me up, makes me happy and reminds me of relaxing times. I hated Secondary school and on bad Winter days I used to smear myself in Hawaiin Tropic… hey, whatever gets you through right!

If you have read my blog or watched my videos from way back for any amount of time you probably are aware that I am a Bobbi Brown fan. I love their makeup but I have never tried their skin care or fragrances. Now their beach favourites have my attention.

I am excited! Mainly because they smell amazing, well from what I have tried so far. Fans of Nuxe will likely love these, they smell different but are in the same ball park.

The range consists of a Hand Wash, Hand & Body Lotion, Shower Gel, Body Scrub, Body Oil and a beach Fragrance. Oh wow do they smell divine! Can I have them all? Please? Pretty please?

Ok my bank balance would not approve, these guys are expensive.

I’m here to talk about the scrub since its the product I have tried before release. It’s a blend of orange peel and pumice and sloughs away dead skin cells like nobodies business. I usually find scrubs drying and so stick with AHA’s to exfoliate these days but this little guy didn’t dry me out one bit. I had a nose into the ingredients and it also contains Shea Butter and oils to hydrate. Love.

Oh but the scent!

At €33 it’s steep for a scrub but did I mention the scent? :D

I’ll be back soon with more Bobbi Brown reviews!

Have a great day everyone, chat later.

Iron Away Puffy Eye Bags with Benefit Puff Off

An iron on the top of an eye gel? Obviously I have to know if it works. When I heard about the iron I first thought gimmick! I assumed it would be plastic and look tacky but actually its like a dainty little monopoly piece. It’s not the iron itself,  its that it stays cold, like applying the back of a cold spoon to your eye puffs. Although the shape of the tip works much better with the shape of your under eye area… Continue Reading

Instant Results!
with Murad Eye Cream

Hi guys, I’m back! I have a mountain of products and treatments I want to blog about so be prepared to get sick of me. Hope you all are enjoying Christmas!

I’m at an age where I am a little concerned about eye crinkles. I have spent much of 2104 testing my way through eye creams (over-view to follow). I have found some good ones but generally a lot of duds. I haven’t found my holy grail eye product so I still get a little over-enthusiastic when a brand launches a new product that contains the latest magic powers.

The latest offering is from Murad. The Instant Radiance Eye Cream is said to instantly erase dark circles. I of course needed to try it. Murad is generally a brand I trust. I haven’t tried too many products of theirs but of those I have tried, I liked.

So what does this guy do and did it do the trick?

Oskia The Nutritional Skincare Angle

I have been keeping beauty secrets! I think it’s clear I love a bit of skincare but I don’t know if you guys know how interested I am in holistic nutrition. It has been something I have been reading up on for years and a big part of my life. So I was really excited when I heard about OSKIA skincare arrival to our shores. If you haven’t heard of the brand they create nutritional skincare, that has been proven to work. I have fallen hard. Continue Reading

Treatment Review | VIORA REACTION Skin Tightening, Cellulite & Stretcmarks

Over the past year or so I have been starting to think about anti-ageing products and treatments. I want to preserve what I have for as long as possible, don’t we all. I was invited to Renaissance Laser & Skin Clinic  to try their new Viora Reaction treatment.

How it works

Viora delivers radio frequency energy to the underlying layers of the skin. As we age collagen fibres weaken; everything from sun exposure to smoking and stress has a damaging affect. Viora stimulates the production of collage and elastin but protects the surface of the skin, this means to redness, rashes or peeling. Continue Reading

Amazing Hair, Nails & Skin

IMG_8555The benefits that omega 3 and 6 has on your skin, hair and nails are well known. I thought I would share two products I have been using simultaneously, one that I take in capsule form and the other I smear all over myself : )

I have been using Mama Mio Omega Body Oil which is said to be superfood for your skin. I read somewhere ‘say goodbye to lizard skin’ and was sold. The skin on my legs is so dry at the moment. I also have post-pregnancy skin recovery going on so moisturising is very important. I should point out that you obviously don’t need to be pregnant to use this, just have crispy skin like myself : ) omega-body-oil_29Nov11_rgb__89055_zoom This oil slides on your skin so it’s much quicker to apply that a cream. The best bit about it for me is that it is a dry oil, I hate feeling sticky. It’s smells of sweet almond and jojoba, which is really just soft and natural if you have no idea what I’m talking about. It is recommended that you use it once a day on damp skin after your shower. I pay extra attention to my tummy since my skin is in the process of firming up there. I also make sure to apply it to my bum, hip and thighs for the lovely stretchmarks. It’s available from Debenhams, pharmacies and online and costs €27.

I have always taken an Omega supplement, even as a child. Over the years I’ve learned that the quality of the oil is of vital importance. Now I’m a firm believer in buying within your means so I have tried all different kinds of oils over the years. When I was expecting I raved about Mor EPA, it ended the dreaded ‘pregnancy brain’. I have since switched to Udo’s Choice (which is also suitable for pregnancy). P070026_L Omega 3 and 6 help combat  wrinkles, acne and inflammation, eczema, psoriasis, dry skin, cracked heels, dandruff, and even balances oily skin. For me it’s all about strong glossy hair, strong nails that don’t split and flake and radiant skin. When I forget to take my supplement for a week or so I notice a change in my all three, get grumpy and go pick up some more. Udo’s have a 6 Week Glow Challenge on their website, where you can log your results and get €4 off your next bottle. I will be doing just that. It’s available in oil and capsule form. The oil can be drizzled over salads of added to soups and smoothies. I tried this before with Viridian Beauty Oil (€13.45), which I also love. It’s a balance of 3:6:9 fatty acids and helps plump the skin amongst all of the other benefits for skin conditions like eczema and rosacea. 500 Ultimate Beauty Oil 200ml I have only tried the Udo’s choice capsules not the oil but it sounds just as good. The capsules are oils start at €14.99 which is a pretty good price for good quality supplements. Does anyone supplement?
