Inky Eyes Winter 09/10

I liked the look of the make-up sets by Front Cover but I was unsure about the quality and pigmentation. When I was in Boots the other day I decided to buy one of the small sets (I resisted the big pretty set!)I chose the Inky Eyes kit. It cost £12 from Boots in Belfast.

The sales spiel ‘Inside smokey eyes with a twist. All the products for perfect inky eyes and how to apply them. Deep violet and shimmering lilac are essential for Winter 2009’. In my opinion it’s a great idea to have everything in one box.

The packaging is nice and the products are good quality. I would say that although the shadows are well pigmented (not amazing) the colours aren’t as vibrant as the appear on the model. The instructions are good but it would have been better to have more pictures to help beginners.

Rather suprisingly there wan’t a whole lot of fall out. I was expecting to have a sparkely face. I should mention that I had to layer the shadows quite abit to get this intensity.

Overall I really like this product and I think I will look into the other packages they have. I like the look of the large eyeshadow set and the false eyelash package. Hmm, do I really need more eyeshadows?! haha

Have you tried any of the Front Cover products?

Really love this look. Very dramatic. This might be a silly question…but what are “inky eyes”??

    • Amy

Hi Bonnie, inky eyes is like splodges (I think I made up that word) of eye make-up that looks like ink dripped from a cartridge pen. It’s more pigmented and less blended than smokey eye x

I have the big one from last winter and I use it all of the time – the handy thing is that there are some really bright colours in it that I wouldn’t have necessarily bought individually but love now that I have the opportunity to use them!
