KATY PERRY ROYAL REVOLUTION Fragrance Review

This is the third fragrance from Katy Perry’s collaboration with Coty. I enjoyed Killer Queen, the first fragrance, but I am usually drawn to brighter scents. This offering is fruitier and more floral.

This is predominately a floral fragrance with top notes of Pink Freesia and Pomegranate. The brightness really appeals to me. The middle notes of Sandalwood, Orange Flower and Jasmine Petals add a richness without being sickly sweet. The base notes of Black Thorn, Skin Musk and Vanilla Orchard add a leatherish depth. It actually reminds me a little of Viva la Juicy from Juicy Couture.

I love the inclusion of Blackthorn which was used in spells by witches in the middle ages. This is the sort of mystical information that really sells a product to me Ha Ha. I also have a thing for perfume bottles. This offering comes in a blue diamond. It rests on its side so won’t topple over.

Personally I wear this for both day and night. It’s not overly sweet or musky so I feel it works for me at any time although this one definitely belongs in the Spring/Summer category.

The price is great, the large 50ml EDP is €33.95 and the smaller 30ml EDP is €25.95. You get a free body lotion too. For a celebrity fragrance this lasts quite well and wears about as long as Viva la Juicy does on my skin.

If you follow me on Twitter you will have heard about how delighted I was to receive the personalised notebook :D I have a notebook addiction. I will be using this one for blog and video ideas!

I’m ridiculously hard to please when it comes to fragrance. There are only a handful that I’ve ever really loved. This is one I will actually wear and use it up. I was thinking of doing a ‘Fragrance Flashback’ post, showing you the fragrances I have been obsessed with over the years, everything from the truly horrible Lola Lola to my obsession with Kenzo. Let me know what you think!

Has anyone tried it? Favourite fragrance at the moment?
