The dull weather isn’t great but there is nothing like some pretty makeup to cheer me up. Lancome In Love Collection for Spring is Spring cheer in girly packaging!
I have three products from the collection – Blush in Love in Pomettes D’Amour, Ombre in Love in Pistachio Cream and Kohl in Love in Jade Crush.
The packaging is gorgeous. I’m never sure about cardboard though as I tend to lob things in my handbag and they get ruined easily so these two have a place on my dresser to keep them beautiful. Sad.
Cheeks in Love (€39.00) is so ridiculously pretty. This one is pink toned but there is a peach toned one available too – I’m trying to keep my greedy eyes off it! There are two shades in the palette than you can swirl together. On natural days I tend to use the pink parts only. Either way it makes you look fresh and pretty. Lancome recommend applying the coral shade to the centre of the cheekbone followed by the pink shade just above for a guaranteed “Doll Cheeks” effect. This is probably my favourite blush right now. It’s the perfect shade for Spring and the design always makes me cheery. It’s also pretty unique, well in my collection at least. It’s a mix of fuchsia and orange offering a healthy glow.
In the swatch photos below the one on the farthest right shows the shade when blended together. The shade on the left is the centre portion and pink in the centre is swatched from the area embellished with roses.
See, so pretty! The eyeshadow in Pistachio Cream (€26) is perfect for Spring. I like green on my eyes but tend to only use it at night. This one is subtle and pretty for day wear although I added a smoky brown into the crease, with this on the lid with lashings of mascara and it was a great party look. It is a wash of shimmery pastel green but it appears silvery green under artificial light making it perfect for someone who wants to dabble with colour but is afraid to vivid shades.
The swatch on the left shows the eyeshadow alone whilst the one on the right in the shadow over the Jade Crush eyeliner.
As for Kohl In Love in Jade Palace (€17.28), it is pigmented, creamy and wearable. That being said it’s definitely brighter than I’m used to. I smeared a little under my eye yesterday but kept the rest of my make-up neutral. Here’s a swatch…
Emma Watson is the face of the ‘In Love’ collection. Here is what they used for the ad – Lips enhanced with a hint of Baume In Love in fuchsia, “Rose Macaron”, contrasted with eyes framed by Ombre In Love, “Sugar Rose”, before being finished with a graphic line of Khôl In Love in turquoise, “Jade Crush”. Cheeks are pretty as a picture in vibrant Blush In Love, “Pommettes d’Amour”.
Lancome In Love is available in Department stores at the moment. I love the blush and the shadow but am still on the fence about the shade of eyeliner, I’m just not sure I can pull it off. Maybe if I had eyes like Emma’s…
Any thoughts on the collection? Did you pick anything up?
