The collection launches on the 28th October in the US. UK and Ireland launch will be later than this – I will update with the exact date.

I have to say that I’m not a fan of the packaging.

Does this collection appeal to you?

hey…anyone know when is the launch date???? :-)

Interesting information. Thank you for this.

  • Maddie

I actually quite like the packaging, don’t really know why though. . . but the eyeshadows actually sound really pretty. I’m sad I don’t have a store near me so I can see these in person but I may just risk an online purchase this time!

I like the look of the blushes, are they in a sliding compact? It looks like 2 blushes and then a 3rd which slides under?
As for packaging not sure, BUT i know one thing they would certainly sound out in my stash.. very easy to find! lol x

  • Britt

I kind of really like the packaging…maybe it’s the Scottish in me :P
Hopefully it’s nice in person…pictures can be deceiving!

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

That’s true Britt, will have to go in and examine in person before I make up my mind :)

    • http://www.expelliarmus.org Lorraine

Haha, that was my reaction too! (‘Mon the Scots. Ahem.)
I’m obsessed with MAC eyeshadows so I’m really going to try and sit on my hands for this… but well ya know, the counter at Edinburgh Harvey Nick’s might just get a visit.

Just for a look you understand.

I don’t know what it is about this collection that is making me adore it but I do- maybe its just pre-xmas excitement. I like anything with yuletide connotations!!!

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

It is quite Christmassy now that you mention it! :)

  • Cel

    I want this sssoooooooooooooooooo much!!!can’t wait :)

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

Haha spoken like a true make-up junkie :)

  • Bianca

I totally love this. This is the first collection in ages that is really interesting me.

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

It’s growing on me the more I look at it. God I’m so fickle! haha

  • Susie

omg i LOVE THIS!! want this soooo bad now! “mum!” lol xx

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

      Haha!! x

  • Lisa

I agree with you about the packaging. I’m a girly-girl and to me it looks a little manly, like something a shaving kit would come in haha. I think the only thing I am interested in is My Highland Honey blush. Do you know when you are going to be sending out your newletter, can’t wait to see it!

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

I’m working on it at the moment :) Will keep you updated!

Totally agree with the shaving kit description and it just reminds me of Burberry a bit too much. I have been wanting to get a mini SE brush kit for a while now (just because they are baby brushes…so cute) but all I want is plain MAC packaging. I actually prefer the normal packaging in general anyway, much more sleek and sophisticated!

  • robyn

It actually does appeal to me very much. I love the cases…i love the purple palette and the more neutral one.

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

Although the packaging doesn’t appeal to me, what’s inside certainly does :)

  • Tracey

One of the eyeshadow palettes looks the same as the Poppy collection in 2008. The blue/green looks similar. I dont like the way MAC use “unique” colours for their eye shadows in these collections, as i dont like the shades. I only used 3 out of the 6 eyeshadows in the Poppy collection, so these collections dont appeal to me. If they had their standard permanent eyeshadows in the palettes they would be better and more useful.

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

Very true Tracey – any time I buy a palette I only end up using one or two of the shades!

  • yumyummakeup

Im liking the brush sets…Have you any idea what price they might be/what they usually are for those brush sets? (:

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

Will get back to you :)

  • Dana

I’d have to see it in person or see closer up pics of it. RIght now it’s hard to tell. HOwever, I can see why it’s not appealing. THey used two clashing tartan patterns and made it look more homely than pretty. They could have spiced things up with a pretty bow on the side instead of the black corner…plus I dont see any makeup colors that look very unique! Hoping to be proved wrong, but if not, it saves me money!

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

You’re so right Dana – it looks homely rather than pretty!
I’d love if this collection was pants, would save me and fortune :)

  • Melanie

I love the packaging. It is finally something more unique as the other collections from this year. And I hope the packaging is well done and not as cheaply made as the disney collection.

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

      Good point Melanie!

  • karen

the packaging is a real turn off, makes it look very cheap. The pigments look nice but nothing else really excites me,.

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

Quite blah all right. Maybe it will look better in person :)

  • http://productrater.blogspot.com Justine

I think the blushes sound like they will be very popular, blue pink and bright coral, everyone is loving that right now. As for that packaging, agreed terrible.

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

      Agreed! on both counts! :)

  • http://www.superficialgirls.com carlinn

I think the packaging is awful, not pretty and not fun. Def wont be getting any of it

    • http://www.makeupandbeauty.ie Amy

As Dana said, the packaging is homely rather than pretty. A mistake in my books. At least it’s different I suppose x
