New love: MAC Prep & Prime Brightening Serum

I’m always chasing a good brightening cream. Enter MAC Prep & Prime Brightening Serum. I bought at MAC Pro in London last year. I was really excited about trying it but when I got home to Ireland it was nowhere to be found. Whilst packing last week I decided to go for a different travel bag than usual and guess what was in the front pocket!

This product claims to brighten, smooth, brighten and firm the skin. I have been using it for a week now so it’s time for my initial impression…

The good

  • Full of antioxidants – One of which is Vitamin C
  • Suitable for even oily skin
  • Lightweight serum
  • No heavy, pore clogging ingredients
  • Not tested on animals
  • Brightened my complexion

The bad

  • It’s lightly frangranced but that’s only an issue if you have very sensitive skin

I’m surprised how much I like this serum. If you need a brightening cream rather then a serum maybe give it a miss but otherwise it’s worth a try. It has been added to my favourites!

Do you use brightening products?

This is probably one of the best posts I have stumbled across on this subject. Have you considered the opposite side of the argument of travel tips? To be candid, I think a decent case could be made either way, but let me know if you have any more articles or sources on the Internet to verify what you are proposing.

I do on days like today!… I was in Galway at the weekend, my liver, skin and sleep routine got a beating! I used the Penneys primer stick, I find it brightens and then some Benefit high beam here and there. Oh and some Bourjois eyeshadow in Blanc Diaphane on my inner corners. This is and essential multi purpose item for me. I use it to highlight sometimes too.

Ooh I’d like to try this – I have oily skin and pore issues so I much prefer to use serums to creams. Thanks for the recommendation!

Hehehe! I do love finding long forgotton products in handbags! I recently found a YSL lipgloss that I assumed was a goner! It was like Xmas!

Can I just say that your hair is gorgeous and does not look weird at all…just a really nice blonde colour! You’re lucky you can pull off blonde and brunette! Keep up the great blogging/youtubing!

Hi. I normally use the MAC strobe cream, but recently I’ve tried the Skinfood Mushroom BB cream and a cheaper version of it would be the Maybelline BB cream. These creams claim to brighten the skin, cover imperfections and moisturize and protect the skin.

I am loving both BB creams at the moment..
