Nars Sheer Glow is hands down the best foundation I have tried. I have decided to dedicate a blog post to my love of this fantastic product.

Here are some reasons why I love this foundation:
- Natural looking: For me this one of the most important things about a foundation, it needs to look like skin and not make-up
- Brightens the skin without adding a glow. Makes you look radiant
- I don’t have to use under eye concealer
- Doesn’t block my pores or cause breakouts
- Hydrates the skin, no dry bits
- Looks great on camera (essential for me)
- Sheer but excellent coverage: Hides everything I need it to hide without looking cakey or heavy
- Comes in a variety of shades: My current shade is Punjab which is a medium with golden, peachy undertones. If you have a cool undertone this shade probably won’t suit you.
- Fragrance free and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin
The downside, yes there is always a downside, is the price. I bought mine in Sephora in Chicago for $42. It’s also not a very accessible brand in Ireland. Even when I was in London I had to go to quite a few department stores before I found it. I have since learned that Nars is sold in Space NK in Northern Ireland and the UK. I’m not sure if it’s stocked in Brown Thomas in Dublin.
It’s expensive but for me it’s worth it. It’s probably too expensive for me to use everyday so I try to use it onyl a few times a week and for the rest of the time I use Revlon Photoready.
I have heard people comparing it to Photoready. Although they’re both great foundations I don’t find them similar. Photoready is thicker in consistency and adds a little bit of glowing sparkle to the skin. Sheer glow is not thick and doesn’t have the glow factor, despite its’ name.
What us you favourite foundation?

Hi Amy,
I’d like to buy Nars cosmetics but I’m so unsure where to buy it in Dublin as I’m new here. Can u plz guide me to a good place in the city centre where I can find Nars? Thanks
Sounds intriguing but im oily and this isnt oil free, would it aggravate my oily, blemished skin?been using laura mercier oil free but hate the dry cakey finish on it…im gettin desperate
Sheer Glow is my favourite foundation too! Nars is only stocked in John Lewis in Edinburgh. :)
Valuable info. Lucky me I found your site by accident, I bookmarked it.
I really really want to buy this but it’s taking me a while to justify the cost! It’s had such great reviews though. I bought the Revlon photoready yesterday and mixed it with my colourstay- I loved the effect! x
I bought this. FOund it horrible for me. Just cakes and makes me dry and it s the Sheer Glow not matt i got
thanks for the review!!! my new fav is mixture of photoready and colorstay…it creates the best foundation!! i assure u!! :) (without any downside because when it is mixed, all the downsides of each just cancel out!
I loooove this blog!
yup, you can get it in brown thomas…i don’t remember the exact price, thirty something euro.x
Hi Amy i was wondering if you could do a blog post on your site about natural’s collection tinted moisteriser. It is only E2.99 . I think it is great so far, but i know if you talked about it that a lot of people would like too.
We don’t have NARS in Sweden so I am stuck to ordering it online. I have almost ordered it, several times. ;)
The problem for me is colour matching, since I am in the hands of online swatches. I WILL order it one day, that’s for sure. I suspect I’ll be fine with any of the lighter shades to be honest. I’m quite neutral so I can pull off most shades as long as they are light enough.
My fav combo so far is the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer topped with MAC msf natural. :)
Benefit Hello Flawless in shade Honey is by far my favourite foundation. It gives a quite natural coverage and works with my oily skin, i find liquid foundations just slide off my skin! Unfortunately its pricey enough at €35!
And you can get Nars Sheer Glow in Brown Thomas, they’ve a fairly good selection! :)
My next foundation purchase will be Nars Sheer Glow. I have heard that Neutrogena Healthy Glow was like Nars Sheer Glow so I went out and purchased it recently. I really liked it – it is a good drug store foundation. It doesn’t cover everything – but it is decent. I have been using Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation for the last year and I really loved it as well. Thank you for your post!
Im pretty sure its sold in Bt’s in Dublin…Ive bought a few things at the NARS counter there so im sure its there! =]
My favorite foundation is Estee Lauder’s Max Coverage Camouflage .
I love full coverage foundations and this really does the trick!
Amy, yes they stock it in Brown Thomas in Dublin…
Nars is stocked in BT’s Amy but I should warn you, even though Nars in very pricey elsewhere that means it’s astronomically priced in Dublin but on the plus side the ladies (note I say ladies) are very helpful and of the non snoooty persuasion at the Nars counter and they throw in very nice free samples!
Myself and mumsie are debating trying this. I feel it is going to be a case of why didn’t I get this sooner! So BT here I come!!
