DKNY’s new limited edition collection of fragrances ‘Delicious Delights‘ are inspired by sweet sorbets. I love the pacakging, these look absolutely adorable. They are perfect for Summer. Here is a little breakdown…
Fruity Rooty Sweet and creamy. Opens with a cocktail of blackberry and juicy mandarin infused with blackcurrent . It has develops with candied apple, rose petals and violet flower. The base notes are orris, vanilla and musk. I would describe this as a sweet blackcurrant with gentle musk.
Delights Dreamsicle Sweet and fruity. Opens with mandarin, raspberry and blackcurrant. The mid notes are green apple and peach nectar and apricot and a base of sandalwood, vanilla and cedarwood. To my untrained nose this is sweet and peachy.
Cool Swirl My favourite of the three, sweet and fresh. It opens with notes of blackcurrant, fresh violet leaves and coconut water. It then settles with notes of magnolia, jasmine and pistachio. The underlying notes of helotrope, sensual musk and rich patchouli.
If you are a fan of sweet fragrances then you should check these out. If you’re not so into the sweeties have a sniff of DKNY Women Limited Edition instead. It’s described as energizing, wild and sexy. I would agree with that summation.
It’s fresh and vibrant and zingy but sharp instead of sweet like the Delicious Delights. Perfect for a fun-loving outdoorsy girl like myself. The initial notes of spearmint, sweet orange and grapefruit burst on first spritz, at the heart is a blend lily, carnation and tiare flower. There are undertones of patchouli, vanilla and fir balsam. I should point out that I am not a fan of patchoulli itself but when blended well it provides wonderful depth to a scent.
It makes me feel more awake on a groggy morning. This is a huge bottle at 100ml but is great value at €57. I love this! I wonder do they sell a travel size, I can’t very well haul this around with me. This one is available exclusively at Superdrug from this month (March 2015).
They also have a mens version which I had a little whiff of and I would absolutely wear it myself. It’s fresh enough with a hint of masculinity without leaving you smelling like a guy. My mum is actually a real fan of unisex and wearable male fragrances and I myself once had a wee Summer fling with Diesel Masculine.
