New NYC Applelicious Lip Balms & Big Bold Curl Mascara

NYC1

You probably know by now that I’m a big fan of NYC. Cheap and cheerful, yes but besides that many of their products do the job well. I particularly like their nail polishes but have had some good experiences with their lipsticks and eyeshadows. They have a few new products out at the moment that caught my attention.

Applelicious Lip Balms

These are so cute! I love the little apple in the lipstick tube. They are are essentially lipbalms that provide colour. They’re soft and sheer and the two I have tried are really pretty on! They contain Shea Butter, Jojoba and Avocado Oil in the core, whilst the surrounding area provides the colour. The nude shade immediately spoke to me but having tried both I have to say that the pink shade is perfect for my complexion.

My lips are in a bad way at the moment and no amount of  cute lipbalms will rescue them, Carmex is my only option so I wouldn’t expect this lipbalm to heal your lips but it will provide some moisture as opposed to drying them out. At €2.49 / £2.49 each these a cheap little Spring pick-me-up.

Big Bold Curl Mascara

First of all let me say that I am a fan of big fat mascara wands so this immediately pleased me. After a couple of swipes this mascara made me lashes look fuller and healthier.

It didn’t reach false lash effect status for me but that’s not what I was really going for. It adds a nice bit of drama, lifted my lashes, curled and added volume. It also didn’t irritate my eyes, even with my contact lenses in. My only wish would be that it was a little blacker. I do love an intense black mascara, I’m sure most blue eyes girls would agree! At €3.49 / £3.99 this is an absolute bargain and I will definitely re-purhcase for day wear.

Any thoughts on NYC products?
