NYX Stick Blush Tea Rose – Review, Swatches and Photos

In an effort to get back to some sort of normality, I am returning to one of the things I enjoy most, waffling about makeup :) No better place to start than with blush. Amy does love a good blush.

My blusher of choice for the month of June was NYX Stick Blush in Tea Rose.

And some swacthes (taken in natural light, no flash)…

The swatch on the left is one swipe which I dabbed out a little, as I would apply it to my cheeks. The swatch on the right shows two swipes to give you an idea of the tone and finish.

I love when beauty blogger show what blush looks like on their actual face so I of course couldn’t leave one out. Please excuse the state of my eyebrows, I snapped this at the end of the day before eyebrow groomage appointment. It gives a pinky, mauvy flush.

My thoughts on NYX Stick Blushes

What I like

  • Nice range of shades available.
  • Cheap (and becoming increasingly accessible in Ireland).
  • Easy to apply, fool proof – I swipe it on and pat the edges with my ring finger.
  • The texture is gel like – not greasy or oily.
  • I would deem it pretty much the same as my Tarte stick blush which cost much more.
  • Wearable, natural, not gaudy.
  • Lasts 5-6 hours on my skin. Pretty decent for a stick blush.

What I don’t like

  • I would say the packaging is a little cheap but then its affordable makeup so I don’t really care.

Would I repurchase?

I will definitely be picking up more of these. Shades recommendations?

I order NYX from Cocktail Cosmetics.co.uk. It’s a UK based company and ships fast to Ireland without the high postage charges that come with ordering from the US. The stick blushes cost €6.98/£5.50

Are you a fan of stick blushes?

So glad you are back! Just read your story on your other blog–my heart goes out to you and my prayers are with you! How amazing that you are grateful for the small mercies and keeping such a positive outlook. To say you are inspirational is an understatement! xo

Hi, Amy! THANKS for posting even in the difficult times. Never tried the NYX cream blushes, but I’m a big fan of “miracle touch blush” from Max Factor, the only problem I find is that it doesn’t last that long on me, do you think this one will be better option?

I love cheek tints. Tea Rose seem to be my cup of tea. Sorry about the pun I just had to do it lol. This looks lovely on your complexion!

    Hey Amy,

Glad to see you back! I haven’t used the NYX blusher sticks. I don’t have NYX too readily available to me. I have a display in a local pharmacy store but nothing like some cities have in their Target. I love NYX and my love for it has grown over the years. The products are great and really I have a hard time finding a rotten apple in the bunch. :)

    Big Love,

Gorgeous looking blush & excellent post. Thanks for the Cocktails Cosmetics info – I get tired of finding really affordable make up online, only to find that the shipping costs as much as the make up! Love NYX.
