Preview! Colour Crush Lipsticks from The Body Shop

Now I know you ladies like lipstick and I know that on occasion you like an aul preview so today I am happy to provide both! The new Colour Crush Lipsticks from The Body Shop will be launched next month and I have been doing a little trial – all in the name of research :)

The shades I have been trying:

  • 201 – a bright fuschia with blue undertones
  • 315-  a beige nude with a hint of apricot
  • 305 – a cool toned earthy nude

I took a little swatch pic – photographed in natural light, no flash.

The fuschia shade would be perfect for any pink girl looking for something bright and summery. The pigmentation is good and the finish is lovely. Unfortunately I’m on a bit of a neutral lip kick lately – I don’t like drawing attention to my braces. As soon as they’re off (10 weeks and counting) I will be all over this lippie!

The nude is my favourite. This is very natural and pretty. It doesn’t wash me out or make me look pasty like some other nude shades. This is one of those shades that will work on everyone. It reminds me of  my favourite Gosh Darling lipper. Love it.

The brown shade is totally not designed for my skintone so I can’t really pass judgement on it. It’s pigmented and light with a lovely satin finish though.

I’m a sucker for a cream finish lipstick and I usually pass on anything with a light feel but all in all these are a pretty decent offering from The Body Shop. I like the finish and the pigmentation but they aren’t going to last all day. Just something to bear in mind. That wouldn’t deter me in the slightest, I’m one of those ladies who likes to reapply.

The Colour Crush Lipsticks are available from the 22nd August 2013 at The Body Shop. I shall be heading in to check out a few soft pinks – a girl can never have too many right? There are 24 lipsticks in the collection so maybe I should branch out and try something different. At €12.95 he price is quite reasonable for The Body Shop which I often find a little too pricey.

Like any of these?
