Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer Means Business!

I love trying out different concealers. Mainly because I’m searching for the elusive ‘affordable yet amazing’ one. I know, it’s a lot to expect but I think I may have found one that comes close.

I have using Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer for the past week. Not only am I very impressed, but I’m also delighted, I can’t help comparing it to YSL Touche Eclat.

It’s described as a 2-in-1 product. It claims to conceal and highlight in one, oh and blend to your skin tone. I was very doubtful, especially after my experience with Rimmel’s Recovery Concealer. It has a brush at the top of the tube for easy application.

I have shade 030, Classic Beige (I’m usually a beige shade in Rimmel foundations). There are two other shades available too, one lighter (ivory I think) and one darker. It has to be said that none of the shades are particularly dark. I would have expected more shades in the range but then again it does claim to blend with your skintone. Originally I thought I might be somewhere between the lightest and mid shade since I planned to use it under my eye and wanted it to be a little lighter than my skin tone. Imagine my surprise when I brushed on some 030 and it blended seamlessly with my skin tone.

This blended with my skin tone, didn’t sink into crevises, looked light and fresh and was also easy to apply. What else could I ask for. I’m not a huge fan of YSL Touche Eclat, there are plenty of products on the market that are practically identical and that don’t have a hefty price tag. I wouldn’t buy it again after trying the Rimmel one. I am also going to pick one up for my mum who doesn’t wear foundation but has broken caprillaries, this will be perfect for her.

The brush idea is both good and bad. It’s great for easy application but brushes do harbour bacteria so I would feel the need to use some brush cleaning spray on occasion, especially since this product is used close to the eyes. That being said, I also applied at the outside of my eye and along the side of my nose too.

Love it!

For reference the tube contains 7ml. It costs £5.99 in Boots, chemists and supermarkets but I tend to wait for Boots 3 for 2 offers :)

Have you tried this? Do you have a favourite Rimmel product?
