Sleek Palette – Storm

I had some fun playing with the Sleek Storm Palette today (video will be up tomorrow). So for now it’s swatch and feedback time!

This appears to be the most neutral and therefore the most versatile palette out of the four I have. There are a few matte shades which I wasn’t expecting – the third shade on the top row is also a perfect match for my brows.

And some swatches…

I particularly like the accent colours on the dark bottom row; navy, petrol blue and bottle green. All in all you have everything you need in this little palette. The colours are quite pigmented although not near as long-lasting as a MAC shadow but they only cost £6 for 12 colours…we can’t complain.

Most of the shades are smooth in texture but one or two are a little more crumbly, and therefore messy.

There is great opportunity for colour combinations so I look forward to more experimentation. I’m dying to try that bottle green! If you have access to Sleek make-up I say pick up this one. I hear they are available to buy in Sleek’s website with delivery to Ireland. One of my blog followers also left us a comment to tell us that they stocked Sleek in her local pharmacy – now we just have to find out which one :)

What are your thoughts on this palette?

Which chemists in Dublin stock it? I need this in my life!

  • lindsay

Hi guys! I am from Belfast and ordered the Storm Palette online because an assistant in Superdrug told me they didn’t stock them in Northern Ireland. But I then found a good range of the palettes in the large Superdrug in Castlecourt in the centre of Belfast! So I was disappointed that she was so misinformed. Anyway, just thought it might be an idea for you if you’re on a shopping trip to Belfast. There is another Superdrug on Anne Street near the Victoria Centre but it’s smaller than the one in Castlecourt and I’m not sure if they have as much Sleek in stock. xxx

    Hey guys,
it’s the chemist beside dunnes in balbriggan at castle mill.
They are very low in stock at the mo. Will post on the forum if I see more sleek merchandise. Great chemist. They do essence, catrice, clarins, rimmel and no. 7. Great beauty supplies also. Dangerous for my purse though.

Oh I have this one too. You could say “youtube made me buy it” ;) There is just such a hype about this product that I wanted to try. I bought mine at ebay. I got them for a really good price. However, I don’t like it that much. I rarely use it. I don’t like that even with a base they don’t last that long and it takes a bit of packing on to have the colours show their true brilliance. I use my NYX shadow palettes a lot more, I find (they also don’t cost that much, I’m not a fan of expensive makeup). The colour combination is the Storm palette is super pretty though.

you know that you can get them from sleekmakeup.com? the palettes are €8.50 and delivery is €6, so if you bought a couple of palettes or that work out at good value, and saves hunting around every chemist in ireland!

Actually went over to Swansea for a weekend and picked up all of the sleek palettes except for the circus one which was way extreme, i love them to bits and seem to have abandoned all my other makeup for these at the moment :(

@Emma Would love to know where you can get them in Dublin??

Amy, I was able to pick up a sleek palette in my local chemist in Dublin. Was there yesterday and they were low in stock but they said they’re getting new stock soon. My storm palette only cost me €6.99.Great product for the price. Work really well with painterly paintpot underneath. Love the new forum by the way. E x

    I love this palette.
Despite being in my 30’s I’m a newbie to the wonders of the make-up world!!
I wanted to explore neutral shades (don’t think I’ll ever be brave enough to try the bolder colours in it, although they are lovely – too late for that me thinks!) and I didn’t want to spend a fortune (to start with at least!).
Like you I think some of the shadows are a bit crumbly. I do like the shimmer – didn’t think I would, but I’ve come round! This palette got me started and now I have the Naked palette to which I also really like – I’m trying to make the smokey eye work for me but having never really worn shadows before it looks a bit full on. Even my friends comment now (with surprise) about me wearing make-up, I don’t want to step too far and end up looking silly – I don’t think I have yet though!

Hi Emma – just add a little bit more to your smoky eye look everytime you try it. Before I started in make-up I remember sitting on front of the mirror on a Sunday, with no where to go, and playing with my eyeshadows. I used to try things that I thought were extreme. Messing around gave me guts and confidence. You’d be surprised at what you can pull off :)

That’s a great looking palette – the others I’ve seen have been a bit too bright for my tastes. I have no idea whether these are available in Australia though, I’m guessing probably not. :-(

We’re the same here Dee- no access. Sucks!

I love this palette! It’s unique because I find I can actually use *every single colour in it* colourwize!

ps. the bottle green is fantastic as a smudgy liner.. ;)
