Nail Polish/Care, Sally Hansen, Swatches

Swatches: Sally Hanson Spring 2013 (Sorbet Soiree)

nailsss

So you are here for swatches huh? I won’t faff around, I shall get right to it…

IMG_2166Purple Heart 406 A creamy, high-shine milky lavender. I love this one – perfect for Spring/Summer. Two coats was plenty.

IMG_2174Get Juiced 546 Lives up to its name, it’s a juicy coral shade. There is a hint of salmon to it too. Two coats provided plenty of coverage. Has a gel type finish and has a nice shine.

IMG_2194Cherry Up 542 A bright cheery magenta toned polish. Again, great coverage with 2 coats.

IMG_2316Naked Ambition 210 A gorgeous beige/peachy nude tone with very fine shimmer (no glitter in sight) which means it reflects the light well. My skin tone doesn’t usually suit nudes but this one is very wearable. I love it and it’s different to anything else in my collection.

IMG_2295Pink at Him 500 A pretty milky pink. Went on well but maybe could have used a third coat.

IMG_2153Arm Candy 175 A nude pink which reminds me of the top coat in a French Manicure. Love this one. It’s a great every day shade for me. Elegant and classic. I applied three coats to get the coverage in the photo. It’s sheer but it does add a milky, high-shine finish.

IMG_1861Jaded 210 A lovely pastel green. A bright and cheery pick-me-up for Spring/Summer.

My thoughts on Sally  polish in general

Now although the staying power is better than most other brands I never get 14 days out of an application. To be honest I didn’t expect to. Maybe if your hand spent two weeks in a lab it would be in real life, not so much. That being said Sally Hansen is amongst my favourite nail polish brand. Most shades I have tried two coats in plenty but there are a few sheer ones in the bunch where three coats is absolutely necessary. Not the end of the world but thought I should point it out.

I also highly recommend that you use a nail base before applying bright or deep shades if you want to avoid yellow nail syndrome. Also apply a top coat to delay chipping – it will be worth it!

Love them!
