The next limited edition release from Catrice has caught my attention. Admittedly the name calls to me ‘Candy Shock’. But having checked out the imagery I am actually excited. Let’s have a closer look.
My favourite nail polish this month is without a doubt ‘Round my Finger’ by Catrice.
Round My Finger is a gorgeous Magenta shade. It reminds me a little of OPI’s Pompeii Purple (See here). Actually it’s a little more purple, but similar all the same.
You can’t go wrong for €3!
What’s your favourite at the moment?
I picked up Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer in Clay-ton, My Hero, which is number 230. It’s a taupe shade with gold pearl running through it. I’ve taken a few images to show the the difference the light makes to this polishes appearance.
Sometimes it looks grey, other times you can see the gold running through and the polish appears on the beige scale.
There’s no point if faffing around, I love it! End of.
It’s creamy but fluid, two coats is perfect. One coat isn’t enough and it isn’t a nice colour at this stage. It goes with every outfit, it’s chic and works with most skin-tones thanks to its’ taupeness with an undercurrent of gold pearl.
I bought my bottle from my local pharmacy for €2.99. Bargain! The bottle has 10ml of product.
I applied a clear top coat over this polish and it didn’t chip for 3 days. I love the colour, love the formulation, love the price, just love full stop!
There was a gorgeous jade green and navy that I wanted from this range too but unfortunately they were out of stock. I shall be returning! Do you recommend any Catrice shades?
What are you wearing on your nails today?
This was one of those nail polishes I bought just because of the name. How ridiculous is that?! It’s called Sophisticated Chic by Catrice. I found it last week in my local chemist for €1.49, a friggin’ bargain! The name was enough for me. Maybe on some level the company knew I would buy into their sophisticated chic ideal, well done. Rather surprisingly I have actually fallen in love with this shade.
It’s gold, which was rather alarming at first, but looked pretty in the end. It was easy to apply although I did need 3 layers. It says on the bottle that it dries in 60 seconds, it does. It also lasted ok for such a cheap polish, 3 days with minimal chips.
I’m heading back to the chemist to pick up one of two more in case they discontinue it!
Have your tried Catrice nail polishes? Have you tied any products from that range?
What makeup are you wearing today?
Product rave time! It’s been quite a while since I’ve come across a product I really wanted to share with you. I have been on a mission to find good reasonably priced products. This is mainly due to the number of requests and questions I have received from YT subscribers who are on a tight budget.
The product is by Catrice. To the best of my knowledge they are a German brand. Their products are generally sold in places that stock Essence. Their products are super cheap. I picked mine up at my local pharmacy.
I really like their nail polishes (one in particular…post coming soon!) and their lipsticks are average. I’ve only tried one of their eyeshadows, which I didn’t like so I can’t really comment on them.
Enter my favourite Catrice Product, ‘Allround Concealer’ Palette. This palette is similar in style to the Make Up For Ever Camouflage Palette. Although it is not really comparable with MUFE version, it’s still great.
I paid €3.49 for my palette, unbelievably cheap. It has 5 shades ranging from light to medium, it also includes a green corrector colour.
Bottom line, this is a very inexpensive product with a range of shades to deal with most problems areas. I would say that the concealer is quite sheer and is therefore not thick enough to cover major discolouration or breakouts but would definitely minimize them. Don’t expect miracles!
I’ll be buying this again!
