Here are a few of my favourite single Christmas items – they would be a great addition to a gift or stocking. (I have already gone to town with them!)
Lush L’il Pud Bath Ballistic
Clove powder warms you up when you’re chilled to the bone, while aloe vera extract and rose absolute soothe dry, winter skin. Inspired by traditional British Christmas pudding made of figs. It has the scrumptious almond-icing scent of o Snowcake soap.
Cinders Bath Ballistic…
Cinders is inspired by crackling fairytale hearths, this sweet and spicy treat is meant to warm and relax you. Cinnamon leaf oil heats things up while almond oil soften up your skin.
These are such a great idea for Kriskindle pressies and stocking fillers. I love Lush, particularly at Christmas. The gift sets are affordable, good quality and presented well.
Is there anyone who doesn’t enjoy Lush??
As promised I’m back with more Christmas gift ideas. These would be perfect for school friends, kriskindle or stocking fillers.
1 Salon Effects Polish Strips
Love these so much! This shade is perfect for Christmas and New Years. They last ages too. I blogged about these recently with a ‘how to apply’ and pictures (Link).
2. Complete Salon Manicure in All Fired Up
This is my favourite Sally Hansen shade (Swatches here). Creamy, easy to apply, dries quickly and lasts well.
3. Airbrush Legs
I don’t think I have met an Irish girl who doens’t have a bottle of this stashed in their press for party emergencies. Instant colour, easy to apply, covers imperfections as well as providing a little tan, doesn’t come off on clothes or in the rain, washes off in the shower. Despite the name, I have actually used this on my arms too. Love!!
4. Lip Inflation
This is an affordable lip boosting gloss. It gives a little tingle and did actually plumped my lips. This shade is a sheer peach, perfect alone of over a lipstick.
That’s it for the stocking fillers today, I’ll be back tomorrow with more!
I love this time of year, Christmas collection time. Here’s a little look at the products I got from The Body Shop’s collection. I did a little experimentation with some Christmas decs for a more interesting photo :) I was delighted with myself….
Firstly, skincare. I have Cranberry Joy Body Lotion and Candied Ginger Body Wash…
These smell amazing. The ginger shower gel is my favourite of the two, it’s more Christmassy. The lotion is light and sweet.
The Sparkler was so popular last year that it has been repromoted…
I adore the bottle, it looks beautiful on my dresser. It wafts a light shimmer on the skin. Christmas party appropriate.
Time for this years palette – 4 Step Smokey Eyes. This one is in Golden Brown…
It comes with a visual tutorial which is handy.
And for the swatches….
More on the palette later :)
There are also a variety of High Shine Mini lip treatments…
Left to right: Beige Sparkle, Coral Sparkle, Purple Sparkle, Pink Sparkle
Each mini tube contains 6ml of product. They’re very glossy with lashings of sparkle. The smell quite nice, passion fruit I think.
I think I’ll record a Christmas party tutorial using the range!
Any thoughts on the collection?
I’m a fan of Laura Mercier products. They are expensive though so I tend to wait until Christmas and ask Santa :) Well I am very good after all!
I was having a little snoop at the Christmas collection for this year. I’m excited about the travel brush set. The palette also looks nice although I have never tried Laura Mercier eye shadows. Maybe you could advise :) *Update – I hear the palette is quite small!

Do any of these stand out to you? Do you like Laura Mercier products?
I really like Yes to Carrots products. I’m all on for anything natural and gentle.
At the moment I’m using the Body Butter, shower gel and shampoo. Last Christmas I bought myself a gift set as a way to try out a few of the products. I like sets in general since they are usually more cost effective than buying the products separately. This year I’d like to try some of the Yes to Tomatoes range which is probably more suited to my skin.
Here’s a little look at the sets available this Christmas…
Yes to Carrots Body Care Kit €21.99
- Yes To Carrots Hand Cream (100ml Tube)
- Yes To Carrots Body Scrub (200ml Tub)
- Yes To Carrot Body Butter Full Size (250ml Tub)
Yes to Crarrots Carrot Loving Care Set
- Carrots Moisturizing Day Cream (18 ml Tube)
- Carrots Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser (18ml Tube)
- Carrots Body Butter (30ml Jar)
- Carrots Shower Gel (60ml Bottle)
Yes To Carrots Shower Kit €19.99
- Yes To Carrots Shampoo (500ml Bottle)
- Yes To Carrots Conditioner (500ml Bottle)
- Yes To Carrots Shower Gel (500ml Bottle)
I think I’ll buy the Body Care Kit for myself. I have yet to come across any of their products that I don’t like so it’ll be money well spent.
What are your thoughts on Yes to Carrots? Do you buy sets often?
I’ll be back this afternoon with a post on my mac eyeshadows.
Tis the time of year to start out Christmas shopping. Here are some stocking fillers from The Body Shop if you fancy a nosy.

I like the idea of having so many products in one box. I could pop this in my handbag with a lipgloss and save myself lugging around a half tonne of products.
I bought the Benefit Realness of Concealness kit a few years ago. Although I loved it, I found that I used up the boing concealer within a few weeks. I would love if the concealer pan in Benefit palettes were slightly bigger since most people would use a concealer up much faster than eyebright.
The set costs €36 / £25 – definitely not a drugstore price but if you like Benefit products or wanted a little introduction to the brand then this could be a good option for you. I have to say that I’m not a big fan of Badgal mascara. I’m also not sure I like the idea of eyebright in pan form. The pencil is so easy to use and is one of my favourite products but in a pan? Surely that will be too much work.
It’s also a Boots exclusive. Nothing like the word ‘exclusive’ to start the queues forming although it’s worth thinking about whether you need everything in the box before you commit. I always consider the price against the value of the products and how much use I could get out of them. Then I ask myself if there is any other product(s) I would prefer to spend that money on. If I still want it at this stage then it’s a good buy. For now, I think I will pass on this one. The other Benefit sets I was talking about before appeal to me more.
Have you ever bought a Benefit set?
No 7 have launched their Christmas Limited Edition collection. I thought you might want a little look since No 7 is so accessible.
MirrorBall Highlighter Compact (limited edition)
MirrorBall Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils
Christmas Glitter Mascara
Christmas Collection Eyeshadow Palette in Candycane
Most of the products in the collection come in multiple shades.
What are your thoughts on No7 cosmetics? Does anything in this collection stand out to you?
When I saw the promo image for YSL Holiday / Christmas 2010 I wanted to have a closer look at what was available. Here’s a little look…
Rouge Pur Shine Rose Metallique
Ombre Duolumiere No 33
La Lacque Gold
Metallic Colorama Palette
I’m not sure if any of the products really appeal to me. The promo image is amazing and drew me in. The products look like so many others.
All products are available now.
What are your thoughts on the collection?
*If your from the UK or Ireland don’t forget to have a look at this weeks giveaway :)
You may or may not know, I’m heading to Chicago next month. Now, shopping will be minimal but I am planning some treats from Sephora.
Whilst in Sephora in The Water Tower last Christmas I was overwhelmed by the sampler and gift sets available. I settled on a fragrance sampler but stayed away from the make-up kits. This was mainly because my make-up list was the length of my arm. This year, there is nothing I need so I’ll be trying a sampler set or two.
Here are a few that I’m considering. Maybe you could help me decide!

I want all four. What do you think?
If you fancy a drool this afternoon have a little look at what Dior have available this season….
Dior Red Cannage Travel Eye Palette
Dior Red Cannage Travel Lip Palette
Dior Deluxe Travel Palette ($75)
The clutch has me intrigued – so classy and chic. However, it’s a bit on the pricey side. (£59 / $75 and I will update with euro prices asap).
I’m a little on the fence regarding dior products. Then again, thanks to the hefty price tag that usually accompanies their products my experience is limited to a lipstick, an eyeshadow quad, gloss and a foundation. All four were only ok, maybe it was my choices. Do you have any Dior favourites?
The collection will be available in Debenhams at the end of October.
What do you think of the holiday / Christmas collection this year?
If you have been reading my blog or watching my You Tube videos for a long time you may have heard me chatting about Kat Von D’s make-up range. I picked up 2 of the eyeshadow palettes whilst in Chicago last December. Well I loved the palettes. I even recorded a video tutorial or two using the palette as inspiration.
I was happy to hear that Kat has launched another Christmas/Holiday Collection for 2010. Here is a little look…
Kat Von D Tattoo Chronicles Palette Volume 1
Kat Von D Adora Collection 1
Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick Set
Personally I love the look of the lipstick set. The eyeshadows are not unlike shadows in my collection so it would be silly to buy these…in theory :) I like the quality of the eye palettes I have tried so far, although one is slightly better quality than the other. I had really low expectation since it’s a celebrity line but I was delighted to be so wrong.
Unfortunately the Kat Von D line is only available in Sephora. I might be heading across the Atlantic closer to Christmas, if I do I’ll be stopping to have a look.
Have you tried any of the Kat Von D line?
