In my next video – my favourite affordable make-up and beauty products, I declare undying love for Yes to Carrots Eye and Face Make-up Remover. It’s a string statement to make about a cleanser so I thought I ought to explain myself.
- Paraben Free
- Affordable – €8.91 for 250ml
- Decent amount of product – 250ml to be exact
- Nice soft scent
- Doesn’t irritate my current sensitive skin
- No need for cotton wool, it washes off (I use a muslin cloth for added exfoliation)
- No oily residue – I haven’t been toning! Oh the horror!
- Gentle on eyes
- Removed every screed of eye make-up
- Easy to find; chemists, Boots, some Supermarkets. It appears to be sold worldwide. Check out their website for more information: www.yestocarrots.com
- I can’t think of any! I suppose the bottle is so big that it would be no good for traveling (but that’s really reaching for a fault! Maybe they offer travel size options)
According to the website Yes to Carrots products are for normal to dry skin. I have combination skin; normal with an oily chin (annoying) and this product hasn’t made my skin oily or greasy at all. Apparently Yes to Tomatoes is for oily to combination skin, Yes to Cucumbers for normal to sensitive skin.
As long as this cleanser keeps my skin in it’s present condition I shall be repurchasing this til the cows come home! Thank you little sister for buying me this one.
It makes me wonder about the rest of the All About Carrots range. Have you tried any?
I spent the day with the Off the Rails crew today. I had the pleasure of meeting lots of Irish ladies who needed their make-up questions answered.
I always enjoy other peoples Foundation Routine videos so I decided to record mine. I tend to be a bit faddy with foundations but this is what is working for me at the moment.
Just a little update on my chemical free products week. I decided to focus on bath and body products this week.
The first thing I did was collect all of my bubble baths and shower gels and give them to my friends and family. I was actually shocked at how many of these products I currently own. It got me thinking, turning to natural home made products will save me a fortune. Bye bye high end bath & body product addiction!
After getting rid of said chemical filled products I realised that I hadn’t given very much thought to the alternative. Really all I had done til then was purchase an organic shampoo, I was far from informed. It was at this stage that I started to research. I am officially fascinated.
I have been educating myself on the magic of essential oils and natural soap and lotions. I have even bought myself a few books on the subject. So far I’ve managed to create my own body scrub, moisturiser, body butter, soap and bath oil. Not only did I focus on the natural aspect of my creations, I made sure the ingredients were organic and blended with appropriate essential oils for my skin type. I have to say, I am a little proud of myself.
In a previous video I mentioned something I made at home that got rid of the hideous bumps at the back of my arms. Well that was one of the soaps I made blended with particular oils for irritated skin. It works perfectly! Not a red bump in sight.
I am officially converted.
How do you feel about natural products?

It is November, it is cold, it is dark…it is bath month. Let me explain before you decide that I’m crazy :) I have noticed a pattern in my bathing habits over the last 10 years or so. For most of the year I shower each morning but at this time of the year I have more baths. I’m not entirely sure why this is but my November in my ‘bath month’. I expect it’s a comfort thing.
