Giorio Armani’s Holiday 2011 was released in Ireland a few weeks ago. Will you be dabbling this season?
“Like a 1930s’ boudoir… A touch of lacquer and patinated metals add a sophisticated feel to satiny, pearlescent tones. Delicate shades reminiscent of the silk lingerie of the time.” (Linda Cantello)
FACE & EYES PALETTE (€110)
Irresistible… Inspired by Art Deco style, Giorgio Armani’s famous black case is decorated in real Madre Perla. Precision work done entirely by hand in the purest tradition of luxury craftsmanship. Utter refinement: a silver logo adorns this exclusive limited edition case, which just 3,000 women in the world will have the privilege of owning. Decidedly unique… Inside are found three luminous, satiny powders in sand, champagne and aqua. Silky shadows that skilfully combine a featherlight texture with radiant colour. Blended over the eye area, the three shades sculpt and illuminate the eyes. Lightly dabbed onto the facial contours, the sand and champagne tones catch the light to increase the radiance of the complexion. The Face & Eye Palette is also available in Giorgio Armani’s iconic black lacquer case.
PALETTE YEUX 01 NOEL (€65.00)
A pastel harmony enhanced with a touch of iridescence. The smoky eye takes on a satiny, luminous sheen with the softness of this slightly metallic ivory, lavender and taupe trio. Micronised pigments incorporated into a translucent base cloak the eyelids in an intense veil of colour.
EYES TO KILL SHADOWS (€26)
Giorgio Armani’s most spectacular shadow is revealed in a limited edition of three metallic shades subtly patinated: a gold, as an echo to antique gilt, a toned down silver plutonium, and an intermediate shade blending gold and silver. Thanks to Colorfil color matrix, these creamy, powder-free shadows adhere to the eyelid like a second skin, without ever fading or flaking. At the heart of their formula is a very high concentration of pigments captured in a supple polymer complex resistant to humidity and heat. The result: a vibrant film of colour, as if cast in metal, which stays true for 24 hours.
There are also four lip glosses – Gloss D’Armani (€25) in Pink, Rouge and two shades of Plum.
The Face and Eye Palette looks so beautiful but what really appeals to me is the metallic gold and silver shadow. They look stunning.
Giorgio Armani’s Spring collection introduces colours of nature. The collection is available at Brown Thomas Dublin and Cork from the 20th of Januray 2011.
Transluminence Face Palette (€35.50)
Sculpt the face with frost bitten Sheer Translucent Blush presented in the spring signature face palette
Illuminate and perfect the complexion with a veil of delicate Abelia Pink Fluid Sheer N°7 super light natural beauty enhancer. Its ultra fine pearly particles instantly impart a glow to the whole face.
Transluminence Eye Palette
Blend and layer the four full, rich, colour-intense translucent tones. Apply rich purple iris with an eye brush to the eyelid and add dewy forest green. These will fuse together into a vibrant blue turquoise. Render the effect even more luminous with a layer of frozen silver. Open up the eye with a touch of silver on the inside corner. Outline the under eye or the eyelid with soft black eye colour, applied wet or dry. The frosty, radiant effect of the four spring garden eye colour-palette tones is accentuated by their new shiny, signature pale purple compact case.
Rouge d’Armani (€26)
The Rouge d’Armani frost bitten pink lip shades accentuate the fresh luminescent spring colour story. Complete the picture by painting your lips with the new star shade of Dawn Pink (518), or Early Morning Rose (508), or Petal Pink (503).
Day-Proof Pencils (€20.50)
For more intensity outline the inner eye with the new black Day-Proof Color Pencil. High-tech compact colour morphs into a fluid substance, creating an eye pencil that is a cross between a liner and a crayon. A soft, day-proof colour that glides on perfectly.Day-Proof Pencil shades: bark brown, leaf green and black.
The Spring Look:
This season the must-have look utilises a perfect harmony of diaphanous forest green and purple iris on eyes, contrasted with frozen pink light on skin and lips. The inspiration: fresh morning dew on a wild bunch of flowers.
Makeup artist Linda Cantello, who worked on the Armani spring/summer 2011 fashion show, says: “Imagine the richest purple and the deepest green both enlivened by a frozen silver. A soft black completes the palette, to be worn alone as liner or to add depth to smoky eyes. Freshened by the softest baby lips, a beautiful frosty blush completes this new way of facing spring in the depths of winter.”
I’m excited by the idea of forest green and purple iris – very original. I’m a hug fan of pink lipstick so I’m in trouble here!

What do you think?
“Megan’s look, inspired by her elegant pale pink Giorgio Armani Prive gown, was ultra glamorous and feminine. The soft palette and color range of Megan’s dress were incorporated in the makeup, with a major emphasis on the eye. Megan’s eyes were lined with black Maestro Liquid Eyeliner. To create the smoky effect, Maestro Eye Shadows #12, #18 and #38 were layered and finished with Eyes to Kill Excess Mascara on Megan’s lashes. Blending Blush Duo #4 was used on the on cheeks and the look was finished with Rouge d’Armani #506, topped with Lip Shimmer #22 on Megan’s lips”.
