Nothing like Yves Saint Laurent to put a smile on my face!

  • Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Waterproof  in 5 Golden Sand
  • Golden Gloss Shimmering Lip Gloss  in 54 Golden Sand
  • Long Lasting Waterproof Eye Pencil in 8 Luminiscent Gold

I can’t wait to try a Summery gold and bronze look with these. Xen tan is on this evening so I think I’ll play around with these beauties tomorrow. I’m not sure what to expect from the gold mascara… should be interesting.

I’ll keep you posted on how I get on!

Make Up For Ever Smoky Collection

I’m eyeing up Make Up For Ever’s new Smoky Couleur Collection. I’m a sucker for a good smokey eye palette. This one looks divine! I’m also a huge fan of Smoky Lash Mascara so the variety of shades in this collection also appeal to me. Uh Oh. We all know how this will end…

SMOKY PALETTE (€45)

SMOKY LASH COLOR (€22)

KOHL PENCIL (€16.50)

What do you think? Worth a splurge??

The Body Shop Christmas 2011…

I love this time of year, Christmas collection time. Here’s a little look at the products I got from The Body Shop’s collection. I did a little experimentation with some Christmas decs for a more interesting photo :) I was delighted with myself….

More pictures

Firstly, skincare. I have Cranberry Joy Body Lotion and Candied Ginger Body Wash…

These smell amazing. The ginger shower gel is my favourite of the two, it’s more Christmassy. The lotion is light and sweet.

The Sparkler was so popular last year that it has been repromoted…

I adore the bottle, it looks beautiful on my dresser. It wafts a light shimmer on the skin. Christmas party appropriate.

Time for this years palette – 4 Step Smokey Eyes. This one is in Golden Brown…

It comes with a visual tutorial which is handy.

And for the swatches….

More on the palette later :)

There are also a variety of High Shine Mini lip treatments…

Left to right: Beige Sparkle, Coral Sparkle, Purple Sparkle, Pink Sparkle

Each mini tube contains 6ml of product. They’re very glossy with lashings of sparkle. The smell quite nice, passion fruit I think.

I think I’ll record a Christmas party tutorial using the range!

Any thoughts on the collection?

Make-up Pressies – My favourite kinda’ presents

My lovely friend, and fellow blogger, Lex sent me along a lovely pressie this week. Lex and I both started on YouTube around the same time and share similar interests and taste in make-up so I always know I’ll love what she recommends.

She sent me these three lovelies.

I have never tried Mary Kay products since they aren’t available here in Europe but I have heard good things about some of their cosmetics. I was excited when I saw this cream blush and highlighter – two of my make-up favourites.. a girl can never have too many cream blushes. Highlighters are a more recent addiction of mine, I blame YouTube.

Cream Highlighter  TX23

The cream blush looks insane but I promise you, it’s beautiful on! It’s called Cheek Glaze and it’s in the shade Mandarin. I’ll be back with a full review and swatches later this weekend. It gives a fresh, youthful glow.

Cheek Glaze in Mandarin

Lex also knows my fondness for Sephora’s eye pencils and sent me this lovely mocha shade 502, which I smeared on the second I opened it. I really must learn to have patience. I would describe it as an iced mocha shade – I’ll follow up with swatches and some photos of how it looks on the eye.

On another note, I have really been loving eye pencils as eye bases lately. I can’t seem to get enough of them.

Thank you Lex! You have great taste :)

Have you tried Mary Kay products?

Preview: Isa Dora ‘Fanciful’ Spring Collection

Here’s a little look at Isa Dora’s ‘Fanciful’ Spring Collection which will be on sale on the 7th of February. It looks so pretty.

Lilac Daydream – Eye Focus Eye Shadow €9.95

Glow Stick Blusher ‘Rose Bud’ €14.95

Jelly Kiss Lipstick €12.95

Personally, I’m looking forward to trying the blush stick, the lipstick, the blue polish, ooh and maybe some eyeshadows :) They look so pretty!

I found Isa Dora products in my local Unicare pharmacy. I used to buy the eyeshadow quads and lipglosess a few years ago from Roches Stores, ah Roches – we miss you.

What are your thoughts?

Incoming…New Eyeko Make-up!

The postman delivered some Eyeko products this morning. These are among my favourite packages to receive :)

Fat Balm in Cherry

Described as slicks of juicy colour infused with light reflecting particles, Fat Balms are fun – I couldn’t  love the packaging more! They contain jojoba oil and SPF 15 and claim to make lips softer and fuller. You can also wear it on your cheeks as a blush.

Fat Balms come in three fruity shades and three candy hues. Cherry is a sheer red with plum undertones. It’s quite flattering and I really like how it looks on my cheeks.

I have my eye on the Toffee Fat Balm too, it looks delicious!

London Lips Lip Gloss in Portobello

Stamped with iconic London images. Long-lasting, non-stick shine. The have three sheer shades and three cream shades available.

Portobello is a cream shade. It’s a sheer shiny baby pink flecked with gold. I’m in lip gloss love!

Liptastik Glossy Lip Pen in Lip Lover

This is a 3-in-1 twist-up lipstick. The idea is that you don’t need separate a lipliner, lipstick and gloss. Lip Lover is a scarlet red hue. I’m going to brave this shade at the weekend with a very simple outfit.

What do you think of these? How would you wear the red  lipstick?

Laura Mercier Christmas 2010

I’m a fan of Laura Mercier products. They are expensive though so I tend to wait until Christmas and ask Santa :) Well I am very good after all!

I was having a little snoop at the Christmas collection for this year. I’m excited about the travel brush set. The palette also looks nice although I have never tried Laura Mercier eye shadows. Maybe you could advise :) *Update – I hear the palette is quite small!

Travel Brush Set (Limited Edition)

Some New Make-up from FYF – Flawless You Forever

I have been hearing about new cosmetic company, FYF , through the grapevine. I was intrigued by their blushes, particularly the 3D flower type. Well luck for me I was sent a few things for blogging consideration. This isn’t a review, more a show and tell of sorts :)

And some close-ups…

Moisturising Lipstick Dewdrop – Naked $14/£9/€10.50

FYF claim their lipsticks provide a  soft shiny gloss and hydrating lip balm…we’ll see. I’ll record a review video after a week of testing. I swiped this over my lips this morning and my initial impressions are that this lipstick is pigmented but the colour is awful on me. It’s a browny shade which would be a great nude for someone with a medium – dark skin tone. On me, corpse like. I will report back after further testing :)

Floral Blush Blossom – Summer Berry $19/£12/€14

The FYF Blossom is said to offer a matte finish and gives you a myriad of hues. I’m really looking forward to trying this one, although the berryness is a little scary to me. I’m wondering whether this will suit my skin tone. I haven’t tried it yet.

Nail Enamel Miracle Coat – Cape Town $9/£6/€6.75

The packaging is sleek and professional, not high end but rather better than drugstore. It actually reminds me a little of elf’s Studio Line.

FYF Nail polishes claim to be long lasting, acetone free and free of harmful chemicals, chip resistant, no clumping or thickening. Hm, that’s a bit of a tall order – will get testing.

FYF Make-up is a US company and their make-up is sold from their website Flawless You Forever. They ship to the UK and Ireland.

I posted an Outfit of the day post this morning in case you haven’t seen it :) Ignore the see-through skirt! ha I’ll be back later this afternoon with a review of a skincare product I really like at the moment.

Have you tried FYF cosmetics? What shade of nude lipstick suits your colouring?

* These products were sent to me for consideration. I have no affiliation with this company. All reviews are as usual my honest opinion, often brutal. In this case there’s no review, just a bit of a show and tell :)

Some make-up swaps have arrived!!

A few weeks ago on Twitter I gave out about the fact that Sleek make-up was not available in Ireland. It was mainly their palettes that I was interested in as I have heard so many people rave about them. For those of you that haven’t seen Sleek products, like me, it’s sold in Superdrug in the UK.

A friend of mine on Twitter swept in unexpectedly and offered to do a swap with me. My swap package arrived this morning :)

I love when packages come wrapped so prettily, it made me smile :)

I proceeded to gently unwrap the pretty paper and look what I found…

Sleek PalettesAll four palettes! I am so excited to try them out. I’ll get swatching and get back to you later on.

But that’s not all, I was spoiled a little…

L to R: Sleek Pout Polish, Sleek Kajal Eyeliner, MeMeMe Poppy Tint, Frizz Ease, Gosh Primer

I’d love to know your thoughts on any of these products and any tips for use since I plan to have a lot of fun with them today. I feel a Sleek inspired tutorial coming :)

I am working on another post simultaneously (aren’t I efficient!) so I’ll see you back here at about 11.30 if you can make it :)

Wow, I must be happier than usual today – There is a definite over-use of smiley faces in this post! Have a good morning everyone – if you’re bored pop into my forum and chat with me, it’ll stop me getting bored too haha!

So what do you think of Sleek make-up?
