I love NYC nail polish. It’s cheap, it’s easy too apply, it dries in no time and lasts as well as the rest. I’ve yet to come across a dudd in their polish collection. Here are a few of my current favourites – not seasonal in the traditional sense but I love them none the less. I don’t always fancy a cheery polish, sometimes I like elegance or a bit of grunge for night time.
The focus of NYC’s new makeup trend this season is peachy, luminescent skin. I could do with some of that!
Skin Matching Luminizer Foundation is available in 5 shades. It’s a lightweight foundation which contains light-reflecting particles. It contains emollients, vitamins and minerals and moisturises the skin whilst evening out the skintone. It also costs only €4.49 / £3.99
Liquid Lip Shine is available in Toast of New York and Pink Cosmo. One peach, one pink. I have raved about NYC glosses before so I won’t bore you but basically they are great! They also taste of Refresher sweets, yum :). €2.29 / £2.99
Colour Wheel Mosaic in Pink Cheek Glow. This is a another one of my NYC favourites. The pink works best of my skintone, whilst the peach looks great on other but unfortunately not on my skin. You can’t go wrong with these! €3.79 /£3.99
Colour Instinct Palette in Picnic in Central Park. Contains four wearable neutrals. These shadows are very pigmented. If you like gold shadows then pick this up, the gold in particular is amazing on blue eyes. €3.49 / £3.49
Kohl Eyeliner in Chocolate Brown. This is a very decent liner, especially when you factor in the price. Well worth adding into your shopping trolley. €1.49 / £1.99
You probably know by now that I’m a big fan of NYC. Cheap and cheerful, yes but besides that many of their products do the job well. I particularly like their nail polishes but have had some good experiences with their lipsticks and eyeshadows. They have a
I wasn’t not entirely sure how I feel about lipstains before. The idea of long-lasting lip products never really appealed to me, I’m too fickle for long-lasting. I have gradually come round to the idea and have been experimenting :)
I promised swatches of the glitter polishes I bought the other day. Here is number one – NYC Expert Last Nail Polish in Lights Camera Glitter 102 (9.7ml). So pretty….
I don’t know what is wrong with me. I can’t stop buying glittery nail polishes. This is ridiculous for a few reasons; 1. I hate the application of glitter polish 2. I loathe the removal – soaking nails in acetone for ten minutes only to be left with glitter residue

Ádh mór cailíní!
I have been using NYC Show Time Volumising Mascara as part of an affordable mascara comparison project (more on that later). I have been quite impressed with this one so far.
This is a great every day mascara. It coats my lashes evenly, doesn’t make my lashes look like plastic (pet peeve) or spindly. I would say that the finished effect is natural and pretty. It lasted well on my lashes too, I didn’t need to reapply.
I quite like the shape of the brush too. It grabs the lashes easily.
The use of the words ‘Showtime’ and ‘Volumising’ might be a little deceptive however. Both of these words make me think of Dior Show mascara – this mascara is not similar in any way. It does volumise my lashes though, just not to the level that Dior Show does. This isn’t a bad thing for me since I usually only wear Dior Show at night for real drama.
I find it very difficult to find mascara’s that look good on my bottom lashes. This does the job well.
I have very sensitive eyes that just love to react to mascara and stream water all day long. I am happy to report that this did not happen with this mascara. I had zero eye irritation.
This mascara is a steal at €3.49. I shall be buying more!
