I was out shopping a few weeks ago and saw a girl wearing a gorgeous pair of flat pumps. I liked them so much that I asked her where she bought them. I was surprised the hear that they came from Penneys (primark).
I searched 5 different stores before finally finding them :)
You can’t go wrong for €11. They look very similar to a pair I had last year – that are now in the bin – which cost €55.
I’m mad about nude shoes. I wear this in Spring with my Baxter skinnies from Topshop and then in Summer with dress and dress shorts.
I’m happy I found them.
Have you picked up any Spring clothes yet?
I have come across two great finds this week. Thought I’d share!
I picked up a very cheap gloss today that reminded me of a MAC Dazzleglass. This rather surprising find came from Penneys / Primark.
It’s called Gilt and it’s a shimmery, sheer gloss with gold iridescent particles. Sounds gaudy right! When I swatched the gloss on my hand it looked very pretty. I have layered it on quite thick for the swatch. It’s not something I would wear all over my lips but rather useful for a dab of poutiness in the centre of my lips.
It also reminded me of MAC’s Dazzleglass in Goldie Rocks. Then I saw the €1 price tag. Yes please, I’ll have two thank you very much. I think they are usually €3 but are reduced at the moment, they may be Christmas stock so get in there quick if you’re interested. I should point out that this is by no means a dupe for goldie rocks but it does have a very similar effect on the lips – that works for me!
I have tried glosses from Penneys before and have completely unimpressed, this one is a different formulation and finish to the ones I have tried before.
It smells and tastes like a stick of rock (the edible kind!). It also tingles like a lip plumper but doesn’t sting.
If you like shimmer free glosses then you should definitely pass on this one. But if like me you are a fan of MAC’s Dazzleglasses or you would like to try one but can’t part with the cash, then this gloss may be for you!
I love a good make-up bargain. It reminded me of my over-reliance on Claire’s Accessory shimmer glosses in 2009; no matte how many fancy ones I bought I kept reaching with the peach and pink cheapies. They just did the job.
I’ll be back in a little while with my second find!
Have you come across any good finds in the sales?
It has been said that I often show obsessive behaviour towards shallow things. I suppose you could call them fads. I obsess about these things for a short time, get bored and then move on to something else. My tendency towards obsessive behaviour stops at shallow things like food and beauty products, no bunny boiling here he hee. Here are my current obsessions…
1. Maple Syrup:
What do I want to eat you ask? The answer is anything I can put maple syrup on. This obsession started in West Egg in Chicago last November. Maple syrup on everything? I’m in! I couldn’t find maple syrup in my local supermarket this month so I had to settle on Golden Syrup Maple Flavour. It’s not exactly the same but it’ll do. I noticed that The Organic Supermarket have a huge bottle of organic Canadian Maple Syrup for €9, I will be buying this from their website later today.
2. Keogh’s raspberry scones:
These are the most amazing scones I have ever tasted. I have tried every scone on sale in Keogh’s on Trinity Street but raspberry is on the obsession list.
3. Pretty headbands:
I feel like every outfit looks prettier with a headband lately. I need to control myself! These two are from Penneys and were a bargain.
4. Working out – Ministry of Sound Pump it up:
I just can’t get enough of this dvd. It’s fun, fast paced and takes no prisoners. I’m addicted to the after effects of this workout and the results (video coming!). I want to do this every day but stop myself. Every other day is more sensible, muscles need recovery time. I usually do the warm up and one of the dance sections with the Bums n’ tums. I’m all about hardcore workouts and this one has become a bit of an obsession. I now have abs of steel…not so pretty.
What are your current obsessions?
Since I love Penneys (Primark) brow kit so much I decided to see what else they had on offer makeup wise. Enter the cheapest primer ever!
It’s appropriately named Prime of Your Life. I think it costs €3. The packaging is quite cute and from the swatch is feels light and creamy. It evened out the skin on my hand and plumped up the
I’m loving waist cinching belts at the moment. I have an hour glass body shape (Bust and hips are the same width with a small waist)
I’m currently a UK8, I have quite a long waist so I like to wear thicker belts. I’m quite short (petite is a nicer word!) so adding a belt and heels seems to add height and interest.
Rather oddly all of my favourites are from Primark/Penneys so they are super cheap (between €2 and €4!)
I have quite a collection but here are my favourites:
I love them all equally and wear them to death!
