I know it’s been a while since I posted, tut tut! I thought I’d let you all know I’m back to daily posting :) If you frequent my blog you know I’m a die hard fan of Make Up For Ever products. I get all excited when I hear about their product launches. Next to arrive on our shores is the new HD Blusher, Second Skin Cream Blush. I have heard great reviews from those of you in the US who already has access to them so I can’t wait to try them. (Giveaway below)… What is it? It’s essentially a cream blush with HD technology that melts onto the skin. It gives a natural flush of colour. I find cream blushes can sometimes be a bit gaudy on my skintone so the ‘natural flush’ grabbed my attention. It’s said to be better than cream and powder blush because of its second skin finish. This means you can’t see the texture of the product on the skin, the blush looks like its your own, no trace of makeup. Usually cream products need to be applied before powder but this one can be used under or over powder. Another pro is that its completely lightweight. It doesn’t interfere with the makeup beneath it and is said to hide imperfections whilst lasting all day on the skin. It’s suitable for all skin types, oily skinned girls rejoice! Application These blushes are applied with a brush, HD sponge or fingertips depending on the look you’re going for. Shades There are 16 wide and universal shades to suit all skin tones. Available in 4 levels of skin gradation as well as cool shades and warm shade tones.

Eyes with a captivating, smoky-fruity effect in blue mint, plum, licorice or pink, speckled with sugary sparkles and lashes sheathed in inky blue. Cheekbones sculpted with carmine Voile de Blush blended on the upper cheekbones. A luscious smile, as shiny as tangerine syrup. On the nails, the fresh touch of a fruit sorbet.

I’m excited about YSL’s Autumn Winter 2011 collection. Here’s a little look, let me know what you think.
OMBRES 5 LUMIERES
Greens and purples with matte and moiré effect. 5 eye shadows captured in a unique new palette
Dark green, mauve, aubergine, violet and green aqua –
Smoky crimson-purple, a halo of green infused with violet, dark mauve and aqua. The superimposition of an iridescent green with blue mother of pearl reflections, brightens and frames darker shades with an almost supernatural radiance…
Yves Saint Laurent style extends to the tips of your fingernails. The hand becomes a luxurious fashion accessory. Revealing the delicate obscurity of dark green to midnight blue essences. Metallic reflections in a moonlit sea.
LA LAQUE N° 43 – Wintergreen
LA LAQUE N° 44 – Moonlight blue
Color plays four ways. Cheeks are dressed in light. A half-matte, half-satin blush that captures the light and transforms it into color. 4 squares of matte and satin powder that, with a light sweep of the brush create a radiant veil.
And for lips…
ROUGE VOLUPTE PERLE
Pearl-like reflections on flowers and autumn vines… Full and sensual lips with a subtle, iridescent brilliance. ROUGE VOLUPTE PERLE is a new range of six shades, natural or nocturnal, each with shimmering reflections.
N° 107 – Impetuous Beige
N° 108 – Celestial Mauve
N° 109 – Brazen Plum
N° 110 – Incandescent Orange
N° 111 – Mysterious Red
N° 112 – Spellbinding Violet
I love the art work! The nail polishes and the eyeshadow palette shall me mine.

Giorgio Armani’s Spring collection introduces colours of nature. The collection is available at Brown Thomas Dublin and Cork from the 20th of Januray 2011.
Transluminence Face Palette (€35.50)
Sculpt the face with frost bitten Sheer Translucent Blush presented in the spring signature face palette
Illuminate and perfect the complexion with a veil of delicate Abelia Pink Fluid Sheer N°7 super light natural beauty enhancer. Its ultra fine pearly particles instantly impart a glow to the whole face.
Transluminence Eye Palette
Blend and layer the four full, rich, colour-intense translucent tones. Apply rich purple iris with an eye brush to the eyelid and add dewy forest green. These will fuse together into a vibrant blue turquoise. Render the effect even more luminous with a layer of frozen silver. Open up the eye with a touch of silver on the inside corner. Outline the under eye or the eyelid with soft black eye colour, applied wet or dry. The frosty, radiant effect of the four spring garden eye colour-palette tones is accentuated by their new shiny, signature pale purple compact case.
Rouge d’Armani (€26)
The Rouge d’Armani frost bitten pink lip shades accentuate the fresh luminescent spring colour story. Complete the picture by painting your lips with the new star shade of Dawn Pink (518), or Early Morning Rose (508), or Petal Pink (503).
Day-Proof Pencils (€20.50)
For more intensity outline the inner eye with the new black Day-Proof Color Pencil. High-tech compact colour morphs into a fluid substance, creating an eye pencil that is a cross between a liner and a crayon. A soft, day-proof colour that glides on perfectly.Day-Proof Pencil shades: bark brown, leaf green and black.
The Spring Look:
This season the must-have look utilises a perfect harmony of diaphanous forest green and purple iris on eyes, contrasted with frozen pink light on skin and lips. The inspiration: fresh morning dew on a wild bunch of flowers.
Makeup artist Linda Cantello, who worked on the Armani spring/summer 2011 fashion show, says: “Imagine the richest purple and the deepest green both enlivened by a frozen silver. A soft black completes the palette, to be worn alone as liner or to add depth to smoky eyes. Freshened by the softest baby lips, a beautiful frosty blush completes this new way of facing spring in the depths of winter.”
I’m excited by the idea of forest green and purple iris – very original. I’m a hug fan of pink lipstick so I’m in trouble here!

The other day I posted some pictures of the products I received from The Body Shop Christmas Trend 2010. Since I didn’t show the entire line and received a few questions about what other products would be available, I decided to post the entire collection.
I thought I’d post the entire collection so you could see everything!
What are your thoughts?
If you like nail polish as much as me you may be interested to see the Orly Holiday / Christmas collection 2010 :)
Meet me Under the Mistletoe
Glitz and Glamour
Naughty or Nice
Candy Cane Lane
I like the look of Winter Wonderland and Meet me Under the Mistletoe. The other shades don’t really appeal to me. Candy Cane Lane looks delicious but it’s similar to about ten polishes I already own.
What are your thoughts?
As you know from my previous post I was invited into The Body Shop on Grafton Street on Friday evening to meet their celebrity make-up artist, Karim Sattar. It was such a treat!
I had a lovely facial after which Karim did my make-up using products from The Body Shop’s Winter Trend collection. More on that later, first I’ll give you a little look at what came in my gift bag from the new collection. After all, that’s why you’re here.
The Sparkler All Over Shimmer
Winter Trend 01 Eye Palette Twilight
Shades: Violet Sky, Damson Velvet, Lilac Mist, Pink Champagne, Pearl
Spiced Vanilla Body Butter
Star Dust Shade 02 Gold
Love Gloss in Twinkling Pink 19
A note on the aloe range…
The lovely Niamh gave me a mini facial when I arrived. Since my skin is a little temperamental this week she used the aloe range. I have never tried any of The Body Shop face products so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. The cleanser, scrub, toner and moisturiser smelled delicate and subtle. There was also no stinging or drying of any kind. Best of all, my skin looks great today. I think I may have to invest in a few products from this range.
I have never enjoyed having my make-up done as much. Karim is absolutely hilarious and his Beyonce inspired dancing was worth the visit alone. I thoroughly enjoyed myself!
And yes, Amy now has a shopping list…
The downside is that I had a few minutes to kill before my make-over. How can this be a downside I hear you ask. Well, I sampled and smelled plenty of testers and proceeded to fall in premature love with a few products I have never heard of before. The one that caught my eye the most (and the one I will be popping to The Pavillions to buy tomorrow) was a body spritz oil. I will update you on my purchases, as always :)
What is your favourite Body Shop product?
Lush have launched some Vegan products for World Vegan Day (November 1st) – thought you Lush fans might like a little look at the new products.
SKIN DRINK (€17.90 for 45g pot) – This is for dry, parched skin. It has a heavier textured formulation for Winter.
Oatfix (€6.90 for 75g) – Contains a blend of fine oatmeal and fresh organic bananas that will soothe and calm dry or sensitive skins and illipe butter to reduce redness.
Maple Taffy lip balm (€3.25) – Made of 20% maple syrup. There’s also a blend of super moisturising butters like illipe butter, shea butter and carnauba wax, as well as glycerine.
CINDERS bath ballistic (€2.50) – Warming, fizzles and crackles like a Winter fire. Contains sweet orange to lift your mood.
Glögg shower gel (€4.95 for 100g or €9.95 for 250g) – spicy, warming, containing fresh orange and lemon juices, red wine, brandy, cinnamon and clove.
I’m definitely going to buy the Maple Taffy Lip Balm and Glogg shower gel. The moisturisers sound too rich for my skin type. I may even pick up the Cinders bath ballistic.
