My hair has been crazy lately. I’m not really sure why but 5 or 6 weeks ago my hair became very unmanageable. It is dry and hard to style. I have found that it has been getting quite matted, something I have never experienced before. As you can imagine, I have spent a small fortune on hair products lately to try and remedy this situation (despite knowing that the answer lies in my diet somewhere!) I bought lots of leave in conditioners, nourishing products etc.. For a few weeks Frizz Ease Serum was working a treat. I was delighted. After applying a little through the lengths of my hair after washing I found my hair silky and manageable.
However, it wasn’t to be. For some reason the serum stopped affecting my hair in positive ways and started having negative affects. It started to make my hair course and knotty. Enter Wella Shockwaves Gloss Serum! This feels quite oily but I was desperate to have nice hair again. I applied a pea size amount through the mid lengths and ends of my hair and combed it through. I then applied my usual amount S Factor Plumping Spray to the roots and blow dried my hair using my fingers. And the results? Amazing! My hair was soft, silky and so easy to style of the coming days. I also tried this serum without heat styling. I applied a pea sized amount (taking care to keep it away from my roots) and let my hair dry naturally.
Usually I resemble Medussa if I allow my hair air dry but not so. Again my hair was silky smooth and straight without any styling. If you’re looking for volume this is not the product for you. If you have normal or greasy hair this serum will probably make your hair look flat and lifeless. But if you are looking to take down ‘big’, dry hair or a relaxing product this could be for you.
It’s available from Supermarkets and pharmacies. Have you ever tried this?
I’m addicted to John Frieda products at the moment. My hair has been quite dry lately. I assume a summer of sun and chlorine has done my hair no favours.
When I was in Lanzarote my hair was completely un-manageable. I think the extra mineral content in the water makes my hair limp and very difficult to style. I set out to find a deep conditioning treatment.
I came across John Frieda Frizz Ease Recovery Mask in the supermarket so gladly gave it a go. It is recommended to leave the product in for 5 minuntes but since my hair was so dry I left it in for an hour and then rinsed it out.
My hair was like silk afterwards! I was so pleased that I bought a whole tub of it when I got home. I now use it once a fortnight for 5 minutes.
Since I loved it so much I decided to try some of their other products. I settled on Frizz Ease Serum. I don’t usually have frizzy hair but occasionally after lots of styling my hair could do with a relaxing serum.
I applied a small amount to damp hair, avoiding the roots like the plague. I let my hair dry naturally. My hair was really soft afterwards. A downside for me is that whenever I use the serum my hair gets greasy more quickly.
I think I’ll stick to the Miraculouos Recovery Mask and save the serum for really bad hair days (the kind that only happen once or twice a year!)
I’m keen to try their range for Blondes.
What are your favourite hair products?
My local beauty salon have recently started offering Glycolic peels as part of their services.
I have some discolouration on my chin from teenage spots. The texture of the skin there is different to the rest of my skin. I spoke to the dermatologist about this and she recommended a mild glycolic peel. In order to prepare my skin for the a few treatments I was told to use this cleanser for a month before treatment (which cost €51!Extremely expensive for a cleanser!!)
It says on the box that the cleanser is suitable for all skin types that require deep clean, refining of pores, lines and congestion. It can be used to remove make-up which I’m quite thankful for as I couldn’t possibly add more steps into my beauty regime, I’m far too lazy! It also removes eye make-up remover without irritating your eyes.
I was told not to use this whilst on holiday as it can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.
I’ve been using it for 2 weeks morning and before bed. The texture of the area has improved dramatically and I have seen a huge improvement in pore congestion. The dermatologist recommended I use this product for one month every year.
I’m really happy with the results so far. I’ll let you know my final verdict in 2 weeks :) Hopefully I won’t get any irritation.
I bought mine in Slender Health Beauty Salon in Dublin.
This particular product can only be sold by professionals because it has such a high percentage of glycolic acid(it doesn’t state what percentage on the box as it’s not sold commercially. I would suggest that you see a dermatologist if you want to try a similar product, as any glycolic acid product you can buy online will not not be the same strength and will not provide dramatic results.
