It’s coming up to that time of year again. I had an Autumn/Winter tan ban last season. I enjoyed my fair skin and loved being low maintenence. Since changing my hair colour I find that I need a bit of fake tan. Here is what I use and how I use it…

I really like the Jergens Express Glow in Medium-dark. Cheap! And Its a step up from a gradual tan with an instant result but not quite as initially noticeable as the St. Tropez would be. Very rich, so it actually leaves the skin very moist and has a mild scent. I find some self-tanners can dry the skin out a bit..but this doesn’t at all! I’d love to try the St. Moriz but unfortunately I don’t think theres anywhere to get it in Canada and online international might be tricky, any suggestions?

I heard Sun Labs is amazing. Like it smells delicious and goes on well. I haven’t tried it yet though. It’s about 50 dollars on their site which seems a like a lot.

You look great, love the hair in this! I’m relatively new to tan but had to dry myself out there for a while, I got so addicted! But, the point is I use St Tropez mousse and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

[..YouTube..] @TechnoKittin Even the most natural of tans can look a wee bit orange with platinum for some reason. St tropez and St moriz are green based so they don’t go orange. Maybe try mis a little with some moistiriser and see what the colour looks like x

But I find this is even more work, and I’m paranoid all day that is my make-up doesn’t last I’ll have a different colour face haha

[..YouTube..] @laurenblakely I do indeed. Moisturise your hands a few mins before applying tan, it acts as a barrier and stops the tan staining you hands. I use a natural lemon oil soap, this seems to lift tan right off (a fresh lemon would prob do the same if you acted fast) Occasionally I have had to resort to a hand mit scrub with the lemon soap x

Golden glow immediately-darkens over 4 hours. Very real looking tan. 2 applications a week will keep it fresh for the summer. cimes in cream and lotion. Cream 25 euros (free mit) but a little goes a long way. Used to have to phone Marion Creedon in Cork (0214272454) for supplies but now in Dublin. Yippee !!!
I have dark hair and am naturally really pale too – think ghostly see through at times!!!
However, when I self tan I like to use Piz Buin Dial tannner as the I can get the exact colour I want. Plus having sensitive skin it’s the only one I have found which does not cause a reaction. (their suncare is the only one I can use too)
If I have an emergency occasion and I have not tanned, then I will use Benefit Jiffy Tan as it washes off.

I use the sally hanson tightless legs which is a instant spray tan but washes off but it looks like you have tights on and brilliant colour, the only problem is my whole bathroom turns orangy/brown!
My favourite moose tanning is either fake bake or st. tropez but when i can’t be bothered to do it myself, then go to my local tanning shop and pay someone to spray me lol

personally i wait until the moisturiser has totally sunk in to tan or else it can go a little streaky and sticky. but exfoiliation is the most important thing.. particularly the backs of the arms, ankles and knees.
