I have found myself drawn to mascaras with added benefits over the past few months – volumising serums, lash nourishes, growth encouragement serums etc. Many don’t work at all but you know me, I can’t resist a gimmick. That being said there have been a few that are worth a look.
One such products is Urban Decay Lush Lash Growth Serum Infused Mascara.
“Nourish, thicken and lengthen your lashes – from the inside out. Infused with Peptides that allow your lashes to grow for a longer period of time (as well as moisturizing Panthenol), this formula builds AND beautifies them simultaneously. The large, unique hourglass-shaped brush provided generous distribution”.
The wand is an hourglass shape which I’m not usually a fan of but it does grab on to the lashes without slipping through. It also makes it easy to apply the products to the back of the lashes.
In the interest of covering all angles beauty blogger wise I took a dodgy snap of me wearing one coat of the mascara in case you were wondering how it looked on the lashes. I’m nothing if not thorough :) Ignore the rest of the makeup here, I had to remove the mascara I was already wearing to smear some of this one on. Hence, the mess!
This is a 2-in-1 product, lash serum and mascara. It has lengthened my lashes a little bit. From the first day of use,(you don’t see results for a month or so) I was judging it purely as a mascara. A month on, I can access it as a lash serum too. From a mascara perspective I should point out that is does absolutely nothing for volume but then that’s not what its designed for.
It didn’t clump for me and lasted very well. It’s also blacker than most nourishing mascaras I have previously tried. This is more of an everyday mascara for me, definitely not for fans of mega volume. I will save my Covergirl Lash Blast or L’Oreal Voluminous for night time.
It’s also water resistant (not waterproof) and therefore didn’t irritate my eyes in the slightest.
It worked for me. No dramatic results but it did make my lashes longer and a little fuller with little fall out and no brittleness. As I said it’s a 2-in-1 product, it’s not designed to rival my volumising mascara. For these reasons I would repurchase.
What are your thoughts on lash conditioning mascaras? Have you tried any that are worth a look?
